Deer pics

I'm no photographer but I did do taxidermy full time.

I'm seeing lots of pics deer, bears, etc. head on.

It can make the head/nose area look oversized n doesn't imo show as nicely.

I'm sure you're all proud of your mounts and the work done.

Maybe take some pictures quartering towards the deer from the way it's turning. Id bet you'd get more of the affect too.

Not criticizing anyone or their piece. Just another idea if you'd like to try

So no matter what your mount looks like take better pictures of it.  I'll give it a try when I get a chance.

Honestly, I have found that taking pics of mounts is kinda tough to get the proportions correct, especially the nose in the front on position...

No they aren't even mine. I just pulled pics up as I was in bed when I read the request for ideas. Again only a suggestion that straight front on angles may not be best

Was just curious. I have seen those pics before.

 

People are proud of the mounts, if the pic is off who cares? Not everyone on here is a photographer. We leave that to wooly. He knows what he's doing.

 

It's the memory of that hunt and having the mount just etches that memory in even more.
