crfingnutz
Quick question, should I have some type of insurance on a parcel of land that I own, no house just a pond? I guess the concern is if a trespasser gets hurt. What type of insurance? Thanks for your help.
growalot
I say this only due to the pond ....Yes...A good lawyer could have laundry list of what YOU should have done to guard against a possible drowning,or injury. Neighbors Mom slid down bank of his pond. Broke her leg...her lawyer friend told her ...Too bad it's your son,he made the banks too steep, didn't provide a dock..etc etc.... nyslowhand
For very little extra, you can get a rider on your homeowner's policy to cover other properties you own for liability. Be Warned, a thief coverage rider is almost worthless, has a deductible and will NOT cover ATVs. So if you lose a treestand, trailcam or ATV, you're SOL. Like Growalot inferred, any decent attorney could find loopholes in that NYS law protecting landowners.
