LJC
Cousin picked mushrooms look like that last year he got diarrhea from them he said. Don't no the name of them . Don't know if it's worth trying them out or not maybe he was allergic. Probably better to leave them be . Just to be on the safe side . Unless you know your not going to get sick from them
Paula
They are in one of my brothers yard and he would never eat them. He is one of those that if it's not packaged, canned or prosessed he would never ever eat it!
LJC
Oh even worse if there in your yard near your home or drive way and not deep in the woods because mushrooms are mostly water they can absorb up any chemicals that are aound , They can be easily contaminated by polluted groundwater or soil you have to be careful . airedale
Those are some of the best eating mushrooms there are, they grow in clusters on old hardwood stumps and roots just under the ground especially oak. I can't remember the exact name but they are delicious and I ate some just today. This is the time of year they come out just after a good rain. In a couple of days those clusters of little buttons will be just like the big ones. The big ones are ready to be picked right now, if you let them get too big the stems will get woody, use a knife to cut them off just above the ground to keep them dirt free.
