SplitG2
How many acres and is it all one block? What's the minimum for archery, 130" and is that net or gross?
swain39
We have been right at 1000 acres for the past 5 years, but are looking to add a few farms for the 2011 season. Its not in 1 block of timber, but the farms are from 150-400 acres which are big enough to manage them properly. Thanks
Geno C
prices on hunting / lodging? whats included. tell us alittle about yourself
swain39
Our early season and rut archery hunts are priced from $1,550 to $2,250 and vary in length from 4 1/2 to 6 days. We also do 5 1/2 day late season hunts for $1,250. Our gun hunts are priced from $2,250 to $2,450. We also offer combo bow/gun hunts..non-residents are allowed 2 bucks. The hunt price includes lodging, trophy preparations, assistance with game recovery and a bunch of pre-scouted stands to hunt. Our archery hunts have a 130" minimum(gross). Having some mortgage free family farms is why we can do hunts cheaper than most outfitters.
BizCT
Meals included? what about transportation to/from airport? Lastly, regarding gun hunts.....shotgun or rifle?
swain39
No food or transportation at this time. Illinois has 2 shotgun seasons, a 3 day and a 4 day. As well as a late season 3 day muzzleloader hunt. Guys can use a muzzleloader during all 3 firearm seasons

letinmfly
so you have to rent a car right? to get from the lodging you provide to places to eat 2 times a day. Or you can drive out there with your own vehicle. That's what me and my partner do. That way we know everything that we take is making it out there with us. Swain, where are you located in IL? Usually everyone who hunts with us just drives out. Cant really justify raising rates just to provide a taxi cab service like some do. We are located in Morgan Co. in west central Illinois. Just across the illinois river from Pike. Thanks, Brandon
letinmfly
You're almost a stone's throw away from where I hunt. I hunt in Christian county.
BizCT
1,000 mile (16hr) drive each way. So 2,000 miles at 20 miles per gallon = 100 gallons of gas x $4/gallon = $400 right there....why would I spend 32 hours driving when I could fly for less money anyway?
WNYBuckHunter
Where are you gonna get a round trip airplane ticket (with the extra fees for the bow or gun and all of your gear) plus a rental car for $400? And where are you paying $4 a gallon for gas? ;D
BizCT
probably not including the rental car....but I live 50 miles north of NYC, so I can get cheap flights from LGA, JFK, or even HPN (westchester county).....Its $3.89 for premium right now, probably over $4 soon.....but my main point was that if the $$ is close to the same, why waste 32 hours driving? 5-6 hours each way is 1 thing, but thats an extra 2 days of just traveling that you have to use as vacation days from work. WNYBuckHunter
True. I started getting interested until I saw the price of an Illinois tag. ??? Guys in NY need to stop complaining about license fees lol.
Dinsdale
Where are you gonna get a round trip airplane ticket (with the extra fees for the bow or gun and all of your gear) plus a rental car for $400? And where are you paying $4 a gallon for gas? ;D I do know a few guys that mail out extra gear to there outfitter or drop address and then fly home with meat/racks/capes; mailing their gear home. For $10 any UPS Store will hold a box for pick up at any location they have. I did this with some hiking gear for a trip. But it is situational for cost of flights......
