Quick question on when to sit.

I moved one my stands so it overlooks a good sized scrub and thicket area that has a well used trail leading to a field..

I moved the set because I found the other end of the trail comes out behind and far enough from my stand that they would see/wind me before I would see them.

So the new set is on a corner of trails overlooking the scrub leading into the field. Intent is to catch them enroute to fill or leaving it. I don't have cam activity for this area (yet). Should I hunt this new set in the am or pm?

If it's a new set and you want to see what the action is, I would sit all day. Or, at minimum, a morning and evening sit. Deer are funny and might go anywhere any time. The most common thought is deer feed at night, but if they aren't being pressured much, they will mill around most of the day.

Impossable  to answer based on info . What's in field ? Crops ? What kind ? Are they still standing ? What's the wind direction ? What else is around , how do you approach  the stand, how much other cover and crops are around and where  and on and on

id say just hunt it and learn.  I've hunted my spot for 30 years, still fine tuning it . I've got trails worn down inches , one can sit there all day and not see one deer use them .

All that matters is what one sees during hunting hours in the season , hop in the stand and learn .

Solid reply right there. You never know what deer will walk in front of you in range until they do.
