Favorite .308 factory ammo for deer?

I don't reload so what factory ammo are you feeding your .308 bolt guns?  I just picked up a Tikka T3x and need to get this ready for the 19th.  Figure my expected shooting lanes will be 50 to 150 yards.

hornaday american whitetail shoots about 1-1.5 inches at 100 yards for me out of a cheap savage axis. plenty good enough at those ranges.

Remington green box 150's and also the federal fusions shoot good.

Barnes Vor-tx TTSX 150 gr.  They group well, drop them quickly, and I don't have to expose my family to lead.

Federal's 150gr loads (both the lead Soft Point's and Copper Trophy) will both be more than sufficient for deer.  Their ballistics will also be good enough to get the job done at distances within 300 yards.

Hornady also makes comparable loads.  

I've shot factory ammo from both manufacturers...I've had good results with both.

 

I'd definitely say the 150gr loads are the way to go, though you could go slightly lighter or heavier depending on your preferences.

Barnes ttsx or Winchester ballistic silvertip. I use both and they both perform phenomenally. I have used 150's and 180's.

I grabbed a few different boxes of ammo to get the scope zeroed on Sunday.  After getting dialed in using the Winchester Power Points, all of the ammo used grouped well at 1 MOA or less.  The heavier Nosler 165's did group noticeably lower though.

I've heard good things about the Hornady Whitetails delivering a knockout punch on impact.  I'm going to sneak in one more quick range trip to fine tune things, but they will most likely be the Go-to choice on Saturday.

I like the Hornady Whitetails out of the ones I've tried so far.

Was able to get some decent clovers out of those at 100.

I tried the Hornady American whitetail loads last year and really impressed. Grouped well out 200 yards and knocked both deer I shot with them flat in their A$$. One was about 10 yards and the other was just over 100. For the price you can't beat them.

I picked up a sweet little rig too,savage 16 lightweight hunter. Best groups were hornady 150g American whitetail. Now I just need to see how they punch through shoulders....
