moog5050
So I blow through a rinehart woodland buck every year (last year 2). I never even exchange the replaceable core because shooting down at it from an elevated deck, I shoot out the belly area that holds the insert in. It's such a thin belly area. When the insert is gone so is the buck. Lol I usually duct tape everything together until hunting starts but the arrows get reside from the tape weather getting nice, I need to pick up a 3D target. Would love one that holds up. Thinking of trying the woodland boar as it has a thicker belly below the replaceable core. At least it looks it. Any thoughts on that or others. Not really interested in dropping big money on one unless I know for sure it will hold up for many seasons. Everyone raves about rinehart but they haven't held up that well for me. maybe I shoot too much or I just don't make perfect shots often enough. Probably a combo of both. My basement target butt of compressed carpet on the other hand seems invincible.
The_Real_TCIII
Are you shooting broadheads at it? I think the McKenzie strutting turkey is a good bang for your buck, it's got four sides

I have a beat up 18-1 that I use just to confirm BH flight. I am really looking for something closer to deer size at least. It helps when shooting without a sight to shoot a similar sized animal. Thanks TC. Probably just spring for another. Targets are consumables.
moog5050
Midland has the boar for 110 shipped. Not bad. Giving it a try this season.
The_Real_TCIII
Bears and boars are a good choice too, lots of surface area. There are several guys nearby that do a nice job repairing them too. Most of the ones we shoot in the winter league have been repaired and hold up pretty well
Jeremy K
I have the booner buck ,it's held up really well and doesn't have those crappy plastic legs most companies like to use.
moog5050
Gotta say, the boar seems sturdier than the buck. All one piece and insert size is about the same. I think it's a winner but need to shoot downward outside to confirm. http://s225.photobucket.com/user/moog5050/media/6D6480B8-C96A-437C-82FF-BE597383CBD0.jpg.html][/URL]

Not sure why but the foam seems heavier than the woodland buck. It's weighs the same and is a smaller target.
sailinghudson25
I say no 3D target. I got a 3D deer and fox target, but I use them to show new shooters where to hit a deer and practicing from a treestand. Best target to heavily use is a standard one. I did buy spare inserts. Skunk 3D targets hold up well at 50 yards.................. The guy in charge of the range also sells plenty of arrows at his store.
