growalot
And go over them carefully... I just got through nagging Mr B..those guys do not use harnesses...dummkopfs! I have never had so many with "issues" ..one ladder that is older and has no section pins...the seat section separated from the ladder section...so I will need a couple of new straps for that... one to ratchet those sections together. another all nails sheared off...but I had a back up of under bracing and straps, another a rung froze and split (bottom rungL another seat board nails sheered......so I have some work to do...but you guys check those bolts, welds and in some cases nails carefully It never hurts to have 1-2 back up safety measures in place...Ratchets are 8 for 20.00 10 ft length at tractor supply ..500lb working load....better yet chains
Larry
I’m changing all my hang-on’s to ladder stands easier to get in and out of and safer to put up.
growalot
Today I got 2 done...one really didn't need it but...I got a twinge ...when your 18ft high you don't want to think " should have listened to that twinge" just before you hit the end of our tether. So 2 extra ratchets on one and one on the other...that one will be a third to the tree and also keep that foot and ladder section firmly joined. also raked out the spot for the blind platform and cleared lanes

Robhuntandfish
had three this year that the ratchets were broken. Prob from some of the bad storms we had and the tree swaying. Have also found them before where squirrels had chewed the straps. I ALWAYS put a backup one on each stand as well and check each time I go up.
