Horizontal rubbing posts

Came across these while doing some scouting and wasn't sure what they were.  After searching around the web a bit, they appear to be horizontal rubbing posts.  You can see how bucks have been working the top inside bar as well as the ends sticking out.  Pretty clever.  Anyone here use posts like this?

Do a Google search of Ted Miller and horizontal rubs. He's the guy that came up with the idea I believe.  He's got some good footage of bucks using them also.

Yep, that's the guy mentioned in the first. article I found.

There's a ton of how-to's on the web about making mock/fake rubs. I started looking into it a couple years ago when someone posted a pic of a rub that looked like there were knife shavings at the base of the tree.

These were the two that still come up on a quick search on the web.

A search for mock rubs and fake rubs will show you some pretty interesting results. If you dig deep enough. I can't find it right now, but one even shows a dude using a small hand saw to make a fake rub on upright trees.

Won't work for me hunting mostly public land, But, you hunters with private land might be able to try it and get good results.
