Another tick problem - this one invasive

An invasive disease carrying Asian tick has arrived in NJ - https://www.sciencealert.com/ticks-that-kill-cattle-by-draining-their-blood-have-just-mysteriously-reached-the-us

From the article:

"Somehow, an east Asian tick that has the ability to essentially clone itself and is a noted invasive species in other parts of the world made its way to Hunterdon County. And it wasn't just an isolated tick. There were more than 1,000 found in the western area of New Jersey."

Cmon....already freaked out by the ticks we have......

I'm guessing it's another offensive move by the Asian Russians.  First the spam bots now this.....   They are after us.

Probably same as ash bore.This country doesnt have strict enough restrictions on shipping containers, or any other type of shipping crates,pallets etc.

When i was still working, picking up and delivering freight, i had a customer on my route that made parts for IBM in England and every item they shipped there had to be on or in a certified pallet or crate that was heat treated.We meaning USA seem to just allow any and all types of wooden containers which or laden with all kinds of bugs from every third world country.

Not sure about the chestnut trees, but we had the Asian long horn beetle here on Long Island and the city that attacked and killed many hardwood trees. They really went after the maples.

They really need to figure out how to wipe this parasite off the face of the earth.I had one in my stomach two weeks ago finished the antibiotics last week blood test tomorrow.I spray down all the time but got lazy and left my shirt untucked.I'm pretty sure it was a wood tick[black/red]
