eagle rider
Just got my new Remmy 700 XCR II in 30-06. Added Nikon glass (new Prostaff 3-9x40) with Leupold bases and rings. This is an awesome deer rifle set up. Light weight, subdue colors, designed to take a beating!!!!! Should be a home run. I loaded up some 150 and 165 gr. ammo for it. It much prefers the Sierra Game King 165 gr with 57.5 grrains of RS Big Game, a WLR primer and Federal brass. Check it out: http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire/model-700/model-700-xcr-ii.aspx
Sogaard
I bought the same gun in .300 WSM last year. Love it! I, too, put a Nikon scope on it, Buckmaster 4.5-14x40. Its a little more bullet than you need for deer, but I plan to take it Elk hunting sometime in the next couple of years. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have been enjoying mine. upstaterifle
Sounds like a nice setup and Nikon glass is great. Recently put a 3x9 Buckmaster on my Remington 750 carbine...can't wait to get it zeroed in. Trying to find somone who belongs to a range in the Albany area because most seem to need a sponsor to join. You have a very nice rifle there. Hope you get to shoot it alot. eagle rider
Developed a great load for it, 61.5 grs of RL19, Nosler 150 Ballistic Tip, WLR primer and Fed Brass. COAL is 3.341. It's only doing 2770 but its a tacdriver! Clover leaf groups all three rounds touching each other at 100 yards.
