sits in trees
well in NY's new crossbow bill they shot down the use of crossbows for handicapped hunters but threw them a bone and told them you are allowed to attach this "Draw Lock" thingy to your compound which you cock with your feet like a chimp. well i emailed 7 of the top vertical compound bow companies out there and asked them about using a draw lock device. 5 out of the seven responded and i was told by all 5 of them that they DO NOT recommend the use of a draw lock and that they wouldn't be held responsible for anything that might happen if you decide to put one on one of their bows? also they stated very clearly that any damage to one of their bows which had a draw lock on it would VOID the warranty???? Doewhacker
um, thats been legal in Ny for a while whats your point? Who cares about a voided warranty.
Chevy
Just more whining by gunners trying to hijack archery season with crossbow use.

Doc
Keep going sits. Eventually you'll have a crossbow trolling rig out in every one of the forum categories....... lol. I almost think you are unhappy that the crossbow got legalized. It's getting harder and harder to get anyone excited about the only topic you seem to have an opinion on......Ha-ha. But I know you'll keep trying.
Doewhacker
I just wish he and his buddies knew what was already legal... :

It seems that you have some sort of fixation, and almost nothing else about hunting that interests you. Now as each crossbow topic dies off, you are frantically scampering from forum to forum feverishly trying to fill them up with your little crossbow rantings to keep your only avenue of interest alive. I just thought it was a little weird is all. Doc

Doc
It sounds like the only thing on your list. Try picking up a little interest in hunting ..... lol. Worried? That's probably not the right word. I am a bit puzzled that your only interest on this forum seems to be a topic guaranteed to drive a wedge between hunters. I just wonder if that isn't more of the motivation than any actual interest in crossbows. Like I said before, this "johnny-one-note" fixation that you have going just seems a bit weird to me. I like a good controversy as much as anybody, but I try not to let it become everything that I am capable of talking about or thinking about. Lighten up a bit. There's more in life than just crossbows. Try expanding your interests just a bit. It'll make you feel better ..... lol. Doc
Chevy
It's like they smell blood in the water. The sharks are closing in for the kill. Guys, archery season is not up for grabs. Let's talk about something else.

Let's talk about something else. OK - let's talk about what my "other agenda" is that you accused me of having and then disappeared when called on it. I really need to know as I have no clue as to what it is without you telling me. ;D Remember - this is your chance to totally discredit me - if you have any proof to back up whatever it is to claim to know about my hidden agenda. Chevy
One of the sharks is circling me. Relax Steve the weekend is almost here. My perception is my proof.
Doewhacker
So lets go back to the original post here touting the draw lock is NOW legal when in fact it already has been. What is your point? If it is just to come in and stir the pot there are plent of other threads to do that in there is no need to start a new one. Doc is right, next subject, what has any cross bow group done for the rest of us? Are they pushing for a early opener or any thing that benifits any thing other than their own interests? Maybe you guys could gain some more support if there was a group that tried to do some thing for all of us... You want to be in archery season, work for US not just you. And now everyone else knows it as well. I'm relaxed - at least till the family reunion starts tomorrow.
SteveB
You want to be in archery season, work for US not just you I am in the archery season with a recurve - you know, a real bow. Just think that all archery equipment should be included as well.
Doewhacker
I have no problem with that Steve I just want these guys to work for us, who would say no to a longer archery season, lower license cost, or any other important issue thats out there getting worked on. Instead of driving that wedge between the two sides, maybe offer a olive branch and prove its about more than money and personal wants. Doc no Doc, it's not the only thing, an early primitive muzzle loader season and an early weekend youth rifle hunting season are things you will be hearing about from "ME" in the near future....i'm not going to lighten up until we have full inclusion of crossbows in your archery season so i can shoot "YOUR" deer with my crossbow ;D anything thats gets younger hunters into the woods and keeps older hunters in the woods is what i'm pushin for DOC, my fellow brother hunter, LOL.. Doc
Ha ..... who are you trying to kid. The only thing your for is to stir up as much devisive trash as you can. That's pretty obvious. Well bring it on if that's what floats your boat. I may play or I may not. That's one feature that I really miss or at least haven't found yet. The old site used to have an "ignore feature" that would block out trolls if you wanted to. Sure would be a good thing to have here ...... lol. Doc aaawwww Doc, come on does one really need an ignore feature to not have to be exposed to something that really upsets them like crossbows and youth hunting upsets you. if it makes you so depressed and gives you tummy aches :'( that the NY hunting scene is going to have some changes in the near future just don't jump right into every thread that has the word crossbow in it's subject title :'( :'( . and besides Doc we know you just can't stay away, LOL... Doc
Yeah, it would be nice to filter out the single source of foolish nonsense and flame-baiting once in a while. I think it would be a good feature. I suppose I can do the same thing myself, but it's just a lot easier when it is an automatic thing.
