Lease Insurance?

So may have an opportunity to get a hunting lease this year. It is 200 acres in CNY. What do I need for insurance and what should it cost? Never leased land before so doing some investigating lol?

Usually the leaser will make the call if it is mandated or not and to what limits. It is actually covering them in most cases because once they lease the land for money they are no longer covered under NY's General Obligation law. Is your landowner asking for it?

Yes that is my understanding.

Your ins co maybe able to get a rider for you under your homeowners ins. Do a search for national forestry assoc's, one of them has ins for landowners and hunt clubs. U may have to form a hunt club to obtain it, not sure.

Fletch we lease with Cotton Hanlon and the insurance I believe was included in the lease. Very little cost.
