2011 Food plot

we worked on a food plot about a month ago and got everything prepared for planting.

I went up and checked on it last weekend and it seems to be coming in nicely.  A few bare spots but we are going to fill it in with either alfalfa or clover.

The disc is from my uncles farm it was orginally 3 pieces that size but we broke it down to one piece so we can use it with the quad. The disc works awesome but the ground has to be perfect for using it. If its too wet the quad wont pull it and if its too dry it doesnt break through.  It was all done with our quads and a hand seeder. Here is some video my brother took with his phone.

My brother made the roller out of a culvert pipe and filled it with cement. Seems to work pretty good.

Dave we didnt add any lime or fertilizer even though we probably should have. The plot used to be an old cow pasture so from them doing there thing in there over the years the soil is actually really good for planting.  At least that is what my uncle told me who owns the farm lol.
