Growing Dunstan Chestnuts

up to 34 trees and put 3 more seeds in starters . I dont think the other 5 nuts i got in fridge will start a tap root.

So far we have 4 chestnuts that rooted and are growing out of 30-40 nuts we bought online.

I asked my brother about his chestnut trees. He's actually developing quite an orchard of them. They are some sort of Chinese chestnut is what he told me. Delicious! He was given the original tree by one of his dental patients about 25 years ago, and once it started to produce nuts he'd save a few to germinate. Now he has more chestnuts than he knows what to do with. I get a good bag of them every year to snack on. You basically need welding gloves to pick them up and husk them, but it's absolutely worth it.

I've got 6 growing and just planted 3 more out of a batch of 15 I got. Have 50 more still chilling in the fridge.

37 trees most are 15in or better

so my trees were doing great put them out side for a day or two temps were 40 to 55 degrees and got rained on pretty good now most are dying any ideas what happened

Now have 42 growing. Going to transplant the biggest ones this weekend and start getting them adapted to outdoors.

Well most of the trees lost there leaves and it looked like they were a lost cause but now they all but two have new buds or started new leaf growth

well just ordered tree tubes plan on putting them in end of august first part september
