Hunter007
Looking out across the sound you can barely see East island off of lattingtown long island behind the first island in the picture above
Hunter007
Just ordered a down wind sail rig for my kayak this way I can take advantage of the sea breeze that most the time blows you back to shore . If I do cross over to long island I will pick a day that the wind is blowing back to where I started from this way later on in the day when my arms get tired. I got the wind to help out wind definitely effects the kayak more then the current around here .
nyslowhand
Guy I use to work with competed in a sort of amateur kayak biathlon(?) in the Daks. Had to paddle across several lakes and carry kayak between the land-locked ones. Not exactly sure where it started/ended..? Sounded like fun, if you're into that sort of thing!
