moog5050
For those that regularly chrono rifles. Just chronographed my 6.5 with the 143 eld-x for a scope that I am having made. Ranged from 2648 to 2669. Is a 20fps range normal for manufactured ammo. Just want to be sure my Caldwell chrono is reliable enough. Gotta figure out what the STD Dev isSent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Lawdwaz
Yes, I'd say that is just fine Moog.
airedale
A 20 FPS deviation is very good uniform velocity and better than average. Al Edited February 1, 2020 by airedale
moog5050
It’s premium ammo so I will just go with average. I doubt I will ever shoot near the distances that the scope is intended for anyways but I figured I might as well get it right. It’s about 150fps faster than Quigley Ford estimated so I am glad I chronoed first.
Buckmaster7600
20fps deviation is very good. 10fps doesn’t amount to an inch until 1600yds at those speeds.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
moog5050
Thanks all. Good to know. I was expecting less but never chronoed a rifle before.
