Storing a Friend's Rifles

A friend of mine is moving and he asked if he could store about ten rifles at my place until he's settled. I assume that this is kosher? I'm not taking ownerhip, and don't have to register the rifles that are going to be at my place?

You don't have to register a long gun at all in NY. It's perfectly legal even if you were taking ownership. Private party transactions of long guns are free from any gov't oversight here.

As far as I know you are doing nothing wrong,as long as they are long guns,if there are any handguns then you have to have a handgun permit and the guns have to be on your permit.

You have room in a safe for them? You probably should discuss your liability in the event of a fire, flood or theft.
