prelude219
So where i hunt my first DMP is a med probablility, second is none. now does that mean when i apply i can put in my wmu for both applications and maybe get one? What im asking is when they want your WMU areas can i just give them 4F for both trys in hope of getting one?
fasteddie
I am not positive but I understand it to be 2 chances if you pick 2 WMUs . I usually ask for 2 different areas just in case .
Doc
I honestly don't have a clue about the inner workings of the permit draw system. The way I would interpret it is that there is no second permit draw if they say "none". So you may be limited to only one draw in 4F and not eligible to submit two draws for that WMU. I'm thinking that if you want a second draw, it would have to be some WMU other than 4F. However, I am just guessing.
furman_ny
Pretty sure if it says none for 2nd chance, you can still try for there but would just be wasting your time, and I dont believe it gives you any better chance of being selected for same wmu in first draw. Need to look at map, hopefully you have other wmu to hunt in where there is a chance for 2 permits and go with that one on second choice. If you only hunt in one, and there is a none in 2nd column, cross your fingers on first draw.
sweet old bill
I have tried to have both choices be the same area and never have had even one get picked then....so now I always pick the 2nd one that has a high level of permits available. Doc
So they're telling you that you've got two chances to get a permit ...... slim and none.
jimbodwb
Last year there were med for 1st and none for 2nd dmp in 6s. I submitted 6s for both 1st and 2nd. Got denied on 1st and then got a yes for 2nd in 6s. It just means that you cannot get 2 permits for that WMU. I did not care about getting 2 permits, I just wanted at least 1. The cool thing is that because I was denied for my first choice I received a preference point even though I got the permit for my second choice.
