I have taken my safety course and have been thinkin of picking up hunting whitetail.I have figured out what caliber rifle I want thanks to all the help with and earlier post. But where is the best place to find out info/get tips from a seasoned hunter? Don't know anyone that hunts around here.I want to spend the winter getting all my necessary gear for the next season. Thank you for all your help and respones.

Culvercreek hunt club
Welcome to the site. There are a lot of members here that can be a big help. I think the suggestion to join a fish and game club or a shooting club is a great one. Face to Face I think is best for someone so new. Just keep in mind when asking any questions , especially from hunters, that everyone has a different opinion. listen, evaluate and see what works for you. But most of all ,,,, Enjoy the sport. I can be one of the most rewarding and frustrating things you have ever done , often in the same day..lol
G-Man
where is here? A local sportshop/sportsman club might be a good place to start. make a few friends. find some state land and start walking it now. get some scouting in.. sit for a hr or two along a good looking trail , see and stalk deer now..all this will help you in the regular season. Is there a park near you that is un huntable that has deer in it? spot deer there get use to looking for a part of a deer in the trees in the park. A lot of cities have deer in their parks....also a grat place to blow a grunt and see what/how a deer reacts to it.
