A Question About Nursing Homes/Rehab Facilities........Covid Related

My FIL is in a local assisted living wing of a large Senior Care facility here in Amherst.  We can take anything (food/clothing/flowers etc) to him and they run it up to him PDQ.  A good friend (94 years old) broke his hip and is in a rehab facility (but part of another very large multi faceted senior care business) also in Amherst.   Well we have dropped multiple pieces of clothing off there and were told each time ANY item brought in has to be quarantined for 72 hours.  How can there be such discrepancies?

I was actually allowed to bring some furniture in to Canterbury Woods today for my in laws. I had to produce a negative test. Once I have a vaccine card I can come and go. So things are finally opening up

Very frustrating to have to jump through certain hoops while those same hoops are different in neighboring states, counties or even businesses.
Doesn’t that all lead towards “enough is enough”
Rand Paul ripped up Dr. Faux-y about all this “theatre”

Places like that had to submit a  plan, like all schools, care providers across the state.  And there is no way all of them were read and reviewed so they are all different for sure.

I had to submit a plan for my summer camp last summer. It was approved by the department of Health and when my inspector came to do her inspection she had more questions about why I was doing certain things. The answer was mostly, “because your organization said so!”
Cluster!

My grandma is 97 years old and in a rehab type place since a fall last fall. Anyway, they give her the stuff we give right away. They also open the window sometimes so that she can hear us better lol. Makes no sense.

Different ownership, different infection control facility orders. They can vary considerably as long as they are within state guidelines. Some facilities go the extra yards which is to be commended, not condemned.

72 hour quarantine for clothing is ridiculous IMO.

Or flowers.

Or food.
