California court overturns Assault Weapons Ban

Recommended Posts

But implementation of the order has been delayed in order to give the state time to appeal it.  That will set the case up for eventual SCOTUS review.  That is where the ruling will matter.

The sad part is, when it is ruled unconstitutional to ban "black rifles and large cap mags" after 30 years of tyranny, what recourse is there for the millions of victims who suffered very real damages under these unconstitutional laws?

It can be seen as a  big victory that a federal judge struck down California's assault weapons ban. Dr. John R. Lott, Jr. PhD served as the expert for the plaintiffs while the state had three different experts on its side. While the judge approvingly quotes Lott's conclusion, he was very critical of the other experts, declaring that they did not accurately describe other research or improperly manipulated statistics to get the result they wanted.

But this is just the beginning of the battle. The California Attorney General will immediately appeal the decision to the Democrat-dominated 9th Circuit. The case might then possibly head to the US Supreme Court.

All gun owners owe a huge debt of gratitude to Dr. John R. Lott, Jr., as he is the most effective pro-gun advocate involved in this fight today.  He is a man on our side that has the data to prove there are lies being used against us.
