SpacemanSpiff
Two more woodchucks checked out this past week. Most of my kills are right by or literally in barns. I find the .22 magnum to be the perfect medicine for such an occasion. Minimal ricochet concerns and its not too loud. My grandfather uses a .17 hmr and it seems to do the trick. I like this savage 93 with a Redfield 2-7 on top. It tends to launch the 40 grain pills the best. The old Winchester super x 40 grain jhp shoot fantastic. I remember when they were 8.99 a box a few years back. .22 magnum has become one of my favorite rounds. Has just that much more pop than its little brother Long Rifle to really make someone smile. Now its a scoped single six revolver 22lr/22mag convertible topped with a 4x leupold scope.

Im currently shopping for a smith and wesson 648 to mount a Leupold scope on. How easy is your scoped ruger to shoot off hand? Nytracker
A scoped revolver is tuff to shoot off hand especially with a 4 x scope . Doable on a larger critter such as a ground hog out to 30 yds for me . I prefer shooting sticks or off the knee. Practice ... practice.... practice. Before this current shortage I use to shoot a couple 1000 rds a year between all my revolvers.

However, I only have an optic on one of them and thats a reflex sight. I thought a long barreled .22 mag revolver with a scope would be a lot of fun for those “think i can hit that” scenarios. I have a few shooting sticks i can play with thanks for the tip. Oh, because everyone likes gun porn….Smith and Wesson 617 .22lr. Nikon spur reflex sight on top.

I had one of those when I used to shoot pistol league many yrs ago. Another one of " kicking myself in the ass" for selling. I sold it to a young mans dad. His son was going places in the pistol and shotgun competition at age 16. Unfortunately he passed at 18 in a auto accident that was no fault of his own. His dad has that pistol to this day.
