  1. Very excited that I finally tracked down the owner of a small field that I consistently see toms in. Guy is more than friendly and doesn't hunt turkey, so its just me out here. I swear I've put in my 5-noons and driven by this place and seen 4 strutters in this field with a smile on their face. That will soon change ! My poor attitude due to a lack of gobbling has just been turned around ! OK, I'm done here, gotta go scout, just wanted to share my excitement. ( tried explaining to the wife, she didn't really care )

  2. Hey fellas. Got my new Hoyt rampage XT today via archerytalk classifieds.. My first draw of the bow without my release, I did a half dry fire as I was backing it down. I'm not used to the new bows harder cams I suppose.. I checked the limbs for cracks and found nothing.. The only visible damage was the peep site snapping off.. I also drew it several more times with no issues... Wondering if I missed checking anything? Anyone w expirience would be appreciated, I'm debating on shooting tommorow, or bringing it to a dealer to check its safe.. Thoughts?

  6. I would have it checked just to be on the safe side. Hoyts are pretty tough, but no reason to risk injury or further damage.

  8. I have had just about every standard hunting and benchrest caliber threw the years.Since I do my own reloading. My present deer rifle I use where I live.In the Catskill area is a 358 Win. caliber,it will take a bear down up to 200 yds.And the deer I hit did not go to far with the 225 grain bullet I use.If I hunted in a more open area where long shots are possible I would use my 270 WSM or my 6.5 x 284 for the long shots both are with 140 grain bullets.
