A very nice morning. Need another shooting lane.

At my brothers 60 th birthday party my niece walks in with the two bow cases and tackle box. She says uncle Jeff and Burt you have to look at this stuff. Her neighbor was moving and had all of her deceased husbands bow stuff in the shed. My niece said her two uncles would love it so here we are. A tackle box full of all types of things. Two bows a Golden Eagle and a Bear compound. Back in the day the Golden Eagles were the bow to shoot. I just may hang them in the Barn as a tribute to a fellow Bow Hunter. His last license was in 2003-04. Cool stuff, jump in if you have any suggestions or knowledge of the bows. Also some wicked broadheads!

So I decided to experiment with my traditional bow and added an old sight pin I had, thinking it might help me shoot better. But nope, it actually didn’t. I don’t know why, but just lining up the tip of the arrow and using the riser for elevation gets me bullseyes, while looking at the sight pin doesn’t help as much. I think it would work if I used a peep sight on the string, but I see some guys using just a pin sight without it on traditional bows. It’s just not for me. I mean, if I use the pin just for elevation and look down the arrow, it works. But I have to remember to do that, as it makes me want to shoot it like a compound bow and just use the sight pin. For some reason, that throws me off a little.

I just ran up to the barn. It's a Bear Whitetail 2. Yes all that stuff weighs a lot but still capable in taking down a deer. Funny there was a box of Eastern arrows with it that were fairly new. He must of just got them before he died. 2018's cut to my length. I shot a few and they did fine. May I take a nice buck this year with one of his arrows. He hunted 4O and 3 J. Pretty close to where I first started out in 4P.

I just kept getting to many flyers with the site pin go figure its like a distraction the pins . I guess once your use to shooting with out them for years takes time to get use to a different way of shooting .

Damn! That looks like a fun thing to use off road for fishing and hunting excursions. Now what you need is some kind of light-duty set of wheels that clamp onto a canoe, and an arrangement for a rear hitch, and imagine the fun motoring into some of those stocked Adirondack ponds.

Squirrel number one, The season is long so I will only take one per day, this guy instead of being eaten he will be going into the freezer intact and will be used as a training aid for my young Airedale "Ruff". When I am done he will be able to associate those Squirrel tracks he finds in the woods with what is actually making them. I always try to use real animals when training instead of bottled scents. I watch a lot of the Game Warden shows on TV, and have to wonder how hunters out west keep themselves from breaking the encyclopedia of game laws that they must have out there. I am sure that a good GPS system must be a piece of equipment that you would not dare go without. I see these guys getting ticketed with some wild-ass fines for hunting on private land that has no indication that it is any different than the public land that it borders. And then too they have special restrictions on some parcels of land some times marked and sometimes not. I thought NYS was bad enough with all the maze of legal traps, but watching these TV programs makes some of the western hunts look like hunting's version of a speed-trap.

Remember, this system made it easier for the hunter get their tags, to get out in the field faster. Another A I failure.

I'm going to say something and take it or leave it I think it pertains to what 4seasons is saying. I have been here since the beginning this site developed nicely. Things happened and people got crossed. So they left and now we have this place to ourselves and manage to be pretty civil and stay on topic. There is a wide range of topics in the Forums. Pretty much a place to post about anything. This maybe a personal thing but I don't like when a topic like "what's for dinner tonight" has some one posting all their meals at high end restaurants. I think a topic like that should relate to some type of game dinner. I really don't care if you ordered a 3 lbs lobsta (lol) in a fancy place. Show me the roast you smoked for 10 hrs! I'm using this as an example and you might think its petty. I guess in the end a Forum like this has to be open ended. You will get all types and have to deal with them. Like Doc said just don't respond or overlook it. Cranking down on it will shut people out. (yeah I know no new members). BTW heard Biz broke his leg mowing his lawn. He always ate at these fancy restaurants thought he would have lawn service! lol

I just want to give a quick report on these Ruag Large Rifle primers, I have tested quite a few handloads made up using them and I am happy to say their reliability has been 100% and the accuracy has been as good as what I get with American brands. So if you see them available do not be afraid to buy and use them. Al

Yup. Same here. Ended up running up to the Town to get them. Now all I have to do is copy this piece of paper 5 times and have unlimited about of buck and doe tags. Thanks Ny State!!

It is kind of a pain in the ass but I figured it out and got mine. I believe you still can go to a license issuing agent and get your permits. Al
