  1. I have a 1985 250 fourtrax, its been rolled twice by the original owner, wooden fenders and a makeshift light but still runs great, you can't kill them thats for sure
  2. we use 2 inch thick blue board that is doubled in a 5 by 5 frame, works well for a year or two than you start getting pass throughs
  3. I just dont get some of the people on this site, I feel that some times that I act for like an adult at 19 years old than some of the experienced hunters on this site. I know that i have no where near the experience of hunting that some of the people on this site have, but i know that every one that has criticized this hunter has been in that exact circumstance at one point in their life and made the wrong decision. I also know that he might have gotten a little snappy at some comments that were ment to help him, but who wouldnt, he just lost a buck that he put alot of effort and time into, and i bet that just about anyone in his shoes would be the same way. I believe that this forum has gotten way out of hand and i feel that i really dont want to ask anyone on here for advice anymore because i do not want to get torn apart for a mistake i might have made, as for the time chart discussion on this, why dont you guys take that some where else it is completley off topic
  4. Ya i believe it is an arrow sticking out its head
  5. Isnt that part of hunting, no one is perfect i know im am very comforatable at that distance so i would take the shot in a heart beat, if it went wrong, which it has with me, i would make sure i give it my best to recover the deer, if not that its all part of the sport
  6. Ya I would have taken that shot, any time I dont see how he was being irresponsible, he waited for it to get that close while he could have shot it at 30. I had the same senario this year already without the snow, had a nice 20 yard shot on a deer and hit high just under the spine, i had one spot of blood and that was it, i backed out and waited till dark and tracked it for 3 hours untill i finally lost the tracks in the leafs. Its too bad you lost didnt find it, but if you hit it like mine, than hes still out there and maybe he show again this year
  7. I've never really thought of naming any deer, but sense this is up why not. I gave the buck i missed two years ago the name field goal cause it was a buck i had seen three different times throughout the year, it was a really nice 10 and finally on the last day of northern rifle season i got a chance walking out in the snow from the morning when i jumped him and he stopped and stared at me, I was so amazed by his antlers im pretty sure my three shots when right between the antlers
  8. Ya I had a close experience last year after being in the stand for most of the day, now when i do go up in the tree my belts always on
  9. Last year while still hunting I jumped a buck with a doe, a nice 8, i after the shot the deer stumbled and than kept going, i found blood for only a hundred yards than lost it, never saw the deer after, I hope i just led him to much and hit him in the front of his chest
  10. Ya no problem, Ive hunted there plenty of times over tthe last couple of years, and during early goose i was up there and the ducks were all over
  11. Upper and Lower lakes in Canton is a great spot all you need is a canoe

    Gutting

Ya just gut it like a deer
  15. Ya I have never been a believer in that saying either, that is a really cool looking deer, to bad you didnt get another picture of him the next year to see how much more he grew.
  16. Theres acctually a very large market for anlters, people want them for camps and homes ect. But ya i dont really understand the point in leaving the meat behind, its just stupid i dont see how anyone can find enjoyment in taking a deer like that, theres no sport in that
  17. Do you know if there is still spots open cause i know a few people that want to get their license, and ya i know where it is im a member, greg lives right around the corner from me
  18. Ya it was way to hot yesterday there was no deer movement at all
  19. I know on my hunting club that I am the youngest hunter at 19 years old, my dad is probable the second or third youngest at 45. Next year though my brother will be 14 so he will be the youngest now
  20. Nice deer, I love the charecter that it has
