I have a Winchester 30-30 AR It’s all drilled for a scope . I would like to use it for deer out to 50 yards on one wooded spot I have . The iron sights and my 65 yr old eyes don’t work good together Weaver makes the bases and I can get a Leupold 1.5 -4 x20 scope pretty cheap

Yea seems like the cars parked at the normal places are few and far between, There’s a farm next to my property that a group of 5 guys hunt , I saw one truck there this year and only a few days. I hunt alone 5 different properties and I have those to myself , but I didn’t hear many shots I’m pretty much done , two nice does in the freezer , the buck I shot and didn’t find till early the next morning was torn up by coyotes , made me sick … Wife pickled two hearts , I cut up two livers for dog treats ,,, I may still go out for fun , there’s one nice buck I was trying to target and he’s still alive so …,

I’m shooting 100 grain Winchester power points It broke her shoulder , hole where it broke thru the ribs was the size of a quarter .. it took the top of her heart off . Exiting hole quarter size busted thru the ribs About 60 yard shot

We’ll add another , 60 yard shot at a big doe broadside , .243 that I’ve killed lots of deer with .. Looked like she dropped on her knees for a second then walked into the woods .. looked for over an hour , two people , can’t even find a drop of blood .. Im getting ready to hang it up ..WTH

Are you saying the center horizontal or vertical or both

Started with crossbow , missed an 8 point , shot under him , he comes back 4 days later , I shot him at half an hour of light left . Lost the blood , came back at sunup the next day and found him , coyotes tore him open, Then shot at a doe with the crossbow hit a twig , complete miss Then had a very nice 8 tight under my stand , couldn’t get a hood shot before he noticed me and took off The very next day a decent 6 comes broadside , goes behind a tree and we play the waiting game .. he won Sunday I did kill a nice doe with the .243 so I hope that broke the curse . Ive checked zero on my crossbow at 20/30/40 and it’s dead on .. So I guess it’s me

Agree, I’m just not crazy about tracking in low light IF they don’t drop

I bought Arctic Shield bibs and jacket They are thin but man I’m not warm in them . The other day it was in the high 30s windy .. I had long johns too and bottom , sweat shirt , sweat pants , the bibs and jacket . I was not overly warm and after like 3 hrs I was shivering . i do have a heated vest that helps but seems like there must be something better without sweating to death walking to my stand
