  1. Was packing up the cabin yesterday and get a phonecall from my girlfriend. She was crossing the Throgs Neck bridge going north, and noticed a pickup pulled over going south. 2 state troopers, 3 dec cars, and more than 7 beautiful 130" + bucks in the bed, with only 1 guy in the car. The more I was thinking about it the harder I found it that 1 guy could shoot 7 deer of that size in just 2 days, however he was being patted down as if he was going to be arrested. Could he have possible shot all of them, or is it more plausible that he was just taking his buddies deer back home for them?
  2. You get on the train with your bow? Is that allowed? All kidding aside, if you ever want to do a westchester hunt and hit someof the public spots, give me a shout. Im in the bronx, just off the train, and have no problem helping out.
  3. I did that on accident durring a deer drive. He went 20 yards and i swear he piled up almost in my truck bed
  4. Where on the island are you? I might be interested in 1 or 2
  5. Thank you, Looking more for input on the Wassaic Municipal tract. Is it good for a first time pheasant hunter? Overcrowded and overhunted?
  6. Anyone ever hunted the Dutches county release areas? My brother just moved to Amenia, and i was thinking about giving it a shot. No dog, but just wanted to give it a try finally.
  7. He is great, but something about the THP guys also does it for me. Might be the van and bus that Sam Soholt drives.
  8. Thats where i took my test! And yes, i know they are gone. Very unfortunate. My father had been using them since he started hinting and they were always great to us. Now i need to drive all the way up to Carmel cause i refuse to use the thief in mamaroneck.
  9. I do. Took the hunter course in mt vernon or the bx, not 1000% sure Took my bow course with the cougar sports guy.
  10. Biz, let me see what i can do. I work part time at a golf course in Greenwich, and 2 of the members are going to let me and my father hunt, when they go down south for the winter. How the hell am i supposed to know where my safety card is. I took it 10 years ago. Do they offer replacements?
  11. Just got a few spots to hunt in Greenwich. Does anyone else hunt in CT? If so, how were you able to get your license? Do i really need my original proof of my safety course?
  12. Need a new safety system. Trying to find out weather to go with the mesh style like the HHS or go with a strap version like the muddy magnum. What do you all wear? What are the pro's vs cons? Mostly bowhunt from a climber, incase that changes opinions.
  13. Yes, that's it Some decent trout in the dammed off river too. I recently read that although the deer appear to be on the less healthy side, the dec did a study and was very surprised at the overall health of the herd. Not sure how accurate this was, as the bucks are huge but skinny and walk funny.
  14. Reach out to Nick at Constant Quest Outfitters https://www.cqoutfitters.com/ He grew up here in Westchester and now runs a guide service out in Cody Wyoming. If you get in touch with him, tell him Brendan Fahy sent you. I grew up playing Highschool lax with him.
  15. Ohh I know. Id say my KTM is the best investment of my life. I cant disclose the things I do on it but I can tell you that it rarely goes above 40mph and the front tire always looks brand new
  16. How many more miles does the back wheel of the drz have than the front? I have a ktm 450 super moto and they are hands down the most fun you can have on 2 wheels. Just get nervous because they are so inviting to do things that shouldn't be done on the street
  17. Congrats. My sister in law goes there and I am also considering trying to hunt up there. Did you notice the fenced in deer pen they have down by the field? A few nice deer, and some nice fish in the pond too.
  18. Ill come cut it if you still need the help. Im prob going to be dropping my bow off at flying arrow this weekend. I can throw the saw in the truck and give you a hand.
  19. Might need one for my younger sister next year. Send me your email and ill get it to her. Cortland rental that is.
  20. I had no clue where i was... I was visiting a friend of my girlfriends to ride dirt bikes for the weekend. We came out on a random trail to a road and they were there. Thank you very much!!
  21. Last year i spent a weekend at a friends place in Gilboa. While driving around i passed a high fenced enclosure with what looked to be elk. Anyone know if this is true, and where exactly it may be? Ill be in that area this weekend and wanted to drive by again.
  22. This one was 100% in schoharie county. It was somewhere near minekill i believe.
  23. Not really sure where to post this but need some help. Last summer i went to a family friends house in Gilboa. While out driving around we passed a high fence area, that had elk (they were a few hundered yards away, but i know what i saw) Anyway, does anyone here know where this is? I am heading up that way in the next few weeks, and want to take another look. Thanks.
  24. Anyone here hunt the 3F area? Looking at a property in Hyde Park. Never hunted this area. The property has a few stands, and the neighboring properties had a few as well. Just want to get an idea of what the hunting over there is like. Any help would be great.
  25. Its dutches county, so im assuming that anything livable will skyrocket the costs. Our current place was originally a barn that we transformed over the years. Wish i could find similar down in the area we are looking, but land prices are crazy, and add any structure and you need to be a billionaire. I am thinking set up a camper at the start, and add a 10'x12' shed, with a loft at the start. Than start the process of building a cabin the right way a few years down the line.
