  1. Just to point out as well Rattler if the respected scientific consensus, economic and medical, came out tomorrow and said to open 'er back up, I'd trust them, mainly because they have access to a lot more facts and a much better abilities in interpreting them than I do.
  2. Both. And what's up with the " " around medical experts. Is that subtle way to say you don't trust medical professionals? Kind of like when I use parentheses around "facts" when talking about you?
  3. I'll take that, good one Rattler. Incorrect, but a good insult, I give you that
  4. I did know that Rattler. Do you know what 10% of .00014% is? Hint, it's not very much... I don't have a reopening strategy, I recognize that and will trust experts who know what they are talking about. Wanna guess who I don't view as "an expert" on this? You get 2 guesses...
  5. BURN! You might have a career in insult comedy Rattler, good one! The doorways in your house must be humongous to fit you and your ego through BAM! Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week
  6. Is 98% survivability the new spin on 2% mortality? That's clever, nicely done. Let's compare traffic fatality rates since you want to use that as an example. Traffic fatalities are 1.42 per 10,000. That's a .000142 mortality rate or a 99.999% survival rate. I used an online calculator for this because I suck at math, so if it's wrong, please let me know, I won't be offended. The chances of dying from Covid-19 is 1.4 million times higher than dying in a car accident. Now, I know this is skewed since not everyone will contract the disease, and most people will ride in a vehicle. Still, that's a staggering number. https://injuryfacts.nsc.org/motor-vehicle/historical-fatality-trends/deaths-and-rates/ https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/algebra/percent-change-calculator.php
  7. Interesting take on the pre-existing condition argument. Seems like the experts do weigh in on this theory. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jackbrewster/2020/04/09/a-fox-news-conspiracy-are-coronavirus-death-numbers-inflated-attacked-by-fauci-birx/
  8. That article reads like most of the experts believe we are doing it the right way in the face of not having enough tests.
  9. Plenty of information out there that the numbers are not exaggerated even though there aren't enough tests and are actually undercounted...I guess it depends on who you want to believe. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/04/17/fact-check-covid-19-death-toll-likely-undercounted-not-overcounted/2973481001/
  10. It does look like states are prioritizing testing the living over deceased in terms of giving tests, which would lead to an undercount of positive people who have died. Lots of stories out there about this, so feel free to dig deeper than this CNN article... https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/06/health/coronavirus-coroners-uncounted-deaths-invs/index.html
  11. I stand corrected, I don't think I read it right the first time. It does appear they are using kits, I assume the same one. Feel free to put another notch in your belt in that one Rattler
  12. I know, I know, "typical leftist"...
  13. I neither agree or disagree, I don't really care about it. Just wanted to rile you up Rattler
  14. Here you go @Rattler https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/guidance-postmortem-specimens.html
  15. Boy, Rattler's feeling spicy today. By all means Rattler, copy and paste to your hearts content, you're not hurting me.
  16. Because I looked it up and found it immediately on the CDC website...sorry, it wasn't a meme that he copy and pasted....
  17. Who keeps letting you out of your political forum dungeon Rattler?
  18. You're not going to get an argument from me SW, I said that personally I am not in favor of abortion. I am torn on the political side of it, and again, that doesn't mean I'm against regulation, I think both sides have compelling arguments, so I am undecided.
  19. Haha! One of my favorite Jerry Jeff Walker songs. A native of Oneonta actually.
  20. Very cool, that place looks awesome. Maybe I'll hit it up for a camping trip.
  21. I think the more apt saying here is "pissing into the wind"
  22. Rattler, you're looking for a fight here, and you're not going to get it from me. "You say they are not?" are your words not mine. I'm sure you have all kinds of Facebook facts and Twitter quotes to back yourself up, and that's fine. Believe what you want to believe, if it's truth to you, then so be it. Truth be told, I don't have the facts on hand to prove my opinions, and note I say opinions not facts, because I have been wrong in the past, and I know I'll be wrong again in the future (that is a fact). I know I didn't just pull them out of thin air, and if I wanted to dig down and find supporting evidence for why I believe what I believe, or why I do what I do, I'm sure I could. However, I don't want to, and I shouldn't have to. I don't owe you anything. I am not here to sway you from your beliefs, I have never had that intention. By your own saying, my beliefs "worry" you, and you aim to "enlighten" folks like me. If you are intent on "waking me up", the burden of proof is on you. Just remember, I never asked you for it. I'm just a middle of the road Democrat throwing my $0.02 out to the wolves in the political section of a hunting forum.
