  1. Lots of success today, congratulations! Wishing luck for everyone staying in the field!
  2. Happy Birthday, I hope you have a great day my friend.
  3. I would think it would get you in the ballpark, but if I were going to do that I would just use a bore sight. Regardless, I would sight it in with your hunting loads before taking it out. Your turkey choke (if you're using one) and the shot pattern are going to vary some from what you are hitting with a slug or bore sight. I'm not an expert though, just my thoughts.
  4. I ended up buying a beat-up old Comet Percolator on eBay, supposed to get it Friday. I'll have to give it a shot this weekend.
  5. Motion to change the name of the Politics sub forum to "The Whine Cellar"...can I get a 2nd? Just noting, this does not pertain to the real issues surrounding people personally affected by COVID-19, which are not in any way political.
  6. Taking a break from "The Stand" to read "The Man Who Never Was", which is the upcoming John Milton novel from Mark Dawson. I'm on the advance reader team for Mark Dawson, who I have been following since reading his first Milton novel "The Cleaner". If anyone is a fan of the James Bond novels or similar action/adventure/espionage, I'd highly recommend you check out the Milton series. https://www.goodreads.com/series/124296-john-milton
  7. Looking for a coffee pot (probably a percolator) with a bail handle to hang on a short shepherd's hook over the fire. Does anyone have recommendations for a good one?
  8. Looks like yesterday was a great day for many! My wife and I took our daughter up to Giant Mountain and hiked to the top of the falls. We meandered our way home down Rt. 9 while Ellie slept in the car seat. The only downer was the Oscars Smokehouse in Warrensburg didn't have any smoked ham salad, but oh well. Got home, split some wood, got the sprinkler system turned on and had a great evening by the fire. I'm glad a lot of you got to enjoy a beautiful day as well.
  9. Built my fire pit last weekend in the backyard. I've had 4 good fires in it so far. Here's tonight's.
  10. I laugh at this, but my God, this is the President of the United States. Still, people will spin and defend, I guarantee it.
  11. Terribly sad, I feel for the young man's family. I've only been to Seneca Lake one time, Geneva for a conference. I was there for 3 days and I don't think I ever saw it "calm". Granted it was a raining week in October, but it looked awfully mean from where I was.
  12. Sucks about the red dot. A lot of field shotguns are sighted to "cover" a target, so if you are using the bead to sight, then it would shoot low. Great idea in patterning it. I would just aim accordingly or find a sight/scope that would compensate.
  13. Oh Rattler, you sure are on a roll tonight. I'm off for the night, have a good one Ratt man!
  14. You almost got me there Rattler. At first this looked like a general Senate survey, but it's actually for Republican Senator Askshar. I thought the questions were very leading. It says it right at the top, but I scrolled right past it. That's no way to run a survey. Kind of like "If you had to choose between voting for Trump and killing your Grandma, would you vote for Trump or kill your grandma?" Anyways, it'd just be a bunch of " I don't know" answers for me. He's not my senator anyways.
