  1. So, are we now saying that there is something about divorce that makes a person unqualified for the presidency? Apparently the left has run out of substantive arguments. I haven't really heard an argument against this president that has anything to do with how he is handling the job. The criticisms have all been about his hair and now the fact that he has been divorced. And then there is the new favorite that his inauguration crowd was smaller, and that he has the audacity to believe that voter fraud exists. The left has completely lost their minds because they have no real issues with this guy other than that they simply don't like him because he ran as a Republican. It's funny to watch, but really quite sad at the same time.
  2. It is very weird. Now this morning (right at this moment) there is no problem. I don't have any problems with any other site, so I conclude that it is site-specific. Perhaps a particular ad or something that I not playing well with something uniquely in my computer. Although everything is moving right along right now, I suspect that before too long it will start the semi-freezing again. I have had some success by logging out and then back in again. If it were happening with any other site, I would start suspecting a "clean-up" problem, but that isn't the case. I can say that when it starts (And I expect it any minute now) it is maddeningly frustrating. And then with it being an intermittent problem, I cannot even guarantee that I can always make it happen to show somebody. I will try some of the hard-drive cleaners that I've got and see what happens. Other than that I guess I will limp along as best as I can.
  3. For the past week or two, there is something real ugly happening on this site that keeps making it intermittently freeze up between each page. It is something that only happens on this site, so there must be something here that my computer doesn't like. I am quite patient, but today it is happening so bad that I can't deal with it anymore. It's too bad because I love this forum, but it looks like perhaps I am going to have to give up. I have enjoyed all the great topics and conversation and the great people here, but unfortunately I cannot handle the frustration.
  4. That's what I like about the Dems. They always focus on the big stuff....lol. Now here was the perfect husband who is a model of ettiquette:
  5. The only protesting and resistance that counts is that which occurred during the election. It all settled out with Trump being President and the Obama/Clinton agenda piled on the scrap-heap where it should have been long ago. Yes there is some amusement factor supplied with watching you losers melting down and whining and crying, but maybe it's time you took a second look at just how stupid and ridiculous you people look and sound. I'll tell you that the rest of the world is taking note of your actions, and you are simply burying whatever gains you commies have made over the decades. And all I can say to you is, "good riddance". You are doing a heck of a swell job.
  6. It appears that the success of an administration will be proven to be inversely proportional to the size of the inauguration crowd. But you still don't understand that crowd size doesn't really matter any more. All your childish irrelevant sniping is all just the worthless sound of losers. Perhaps you didn't notice, but the man was sworn in and is already at work undoing the mess he was left with (and none too soon, I might add). So dry your tears little one, stop sniveling, put your thumb back in your mouth and softly cry yourself back to sleep.
  7. Yeah, the day I can put 5 bullets all intersecting the same hole at a couple hundred yards from the bench, I will likely find it getting a little boring. I know it can be done ...... just not by me. But if that ever happened to me, I would likely tack on another 100 yards and start all over again.....ha-ha-ha. As far as dragging the bench a bench around the woods with me ...... well, I kind of solved that problem. That solved all the hurried shots too.
  8. I am a great fan of target shooting. I'm not as good as I wish I was, but the activity is still great fun. And of course as a reloader, target shooting is a must. I guess I go at it with whole different mindset than the rapid-fire guys do, but there are more than just a few that do like this style of shooting, and I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't missing out on something by being so rigid in my purposes. But so far, nobody has really come up with a reason for rapidly dumping so much ammo, so I guess I'll still be deliberate in my shooting, and still go for the accuracy aspect.
  9. So yesterday, I was out doing some yard clean-up, and nearby in the woods it sounded like WWIII. Somebody dragged their guns out and apparently had a jillion dollars worth of ammo that they wanted to get rid of. Most of it was done as fast as they could pull the trigger. It made me wonder what the big kick is about rapid-fire target practice. I have a nephew who is absolutely crazy about just hearing the noise of rapid-fire. He really is never too concerned with where the bullets were hitting, but just squeezing the trigger as fast as he can move his finger seems to be a huge turn-on for him. Apparently he is not alone in that. I have heard that kind of shooting many times here around the valley over the years, and I would really like to understand the appeal. My shots when target shooting are always very deliberate and often loaded into the gun one at a time. The focus is on accuracy of the gun and the load. But I have heard the rapid fire shooting so much that I am wondering if I am missing something. So, I just thought I would ask. What is the kick of spraying lead as fast as you can? What is the purpose? Is it a Dirty Harry thing, or what? Frankly, I have never had so much ammo that I felt comfortable doing that, but who knows, maybe there is something fun about doing that....lol.
  10. Ha-ha-ha ...... All things are possible with a dream hunt, even things that we are no longer able to physically achieve. For me, The dream is to go up on our hill and cut a hickory stave, and take my draw-knife and fashion a good longbow as I did when I was 11 years old (only make it in the 50 pound draw weight). Using some good Port Orford cedar shafts, create some wooden arrows, fletched up with some of the turkey feathers down in my shop that I have saved from my wanderings on our hill over the years. Then hand knap some flint arrow heads from our local stones of the area. Then comes the hunting part .... lol. With that home-made set-up, I would like to take a deer......any deer with that. The deer would come off the land that I have lived on all my life. Then I would have the head mounted along with two of the hooves mounted as a holder for the bow and arrows and retire the whole set onto the living room wall. To me that would represent the absolute crowning achievement of my involvement with archery over an entire lifetime, and consequently be a true "dream hunt".
  11. This is the method that I usually use. The problem isn't what I have in my pack, but that stupid gun that wants to slide off my shoulder when I am bulked up with clothing in cold weather.
  12. Another thing that occurred to me was that during the few minutes between Pence's swearing in and Trump's swearing in, Obama was still President but had a new Vice President.
  13. It's interesting that some of these rent-a-protesters are bussed in and equipped with signs and banners. Somebody is blowing big bucks to finance these protests. They seem to have a well financed agenda that they pass off as a grass roots uprising. I would like to know more about that and put some names to that protest front money. Yes the actual protesters are likely just picking up some drug money, and really have no allegiance or commitment to anything. Well anyway, once again they threw everything they had against Trump, with even some congressmen making a$$es out of themselves with their pathetic boycott, and yet, guess what....... Trump is still standing, and stronger than ever and now he is the President.
  14. Don't pick on Uptown redneck. He's busy in Washington running with the street-thugs, fighting the people who still believe in America and the Constitution.
  15. I was watching a secret service guy being interviewed on TV this morning and they asked him what their biggest concern is during the inauguration. I would have expected he would have said that some external enemy of the country would have been his answer...... maybe ISIS or some other foreign terrorist organization. But no, his answer was the protesters. The biggest threat was considered to be people that are bent on raining terror down on another segment of American citizens. I wonder what it must feel like to be allied with and doing the work for sworn enemies of the country. How does it feel to be more of a danger to the American way than our outright enemies? And all those in the streets that would do harm to innocent people and tear down the traditions and heritage of a peaceful and constitutional transition of power after an election, what must they be thinking to be allied with other anti-American terrorist groups in disrupting American processes of governance? I wonder how it feels to be more of a concern to our constitutional traditions than some outfit like ISIS? And also in that alliance are almost 70 elected congressional politicians who share that same disregard for constitutional procedures that form the peaceful transition of power after the election. How do these people justify their actions aimed at the disruption of American Democratic procedures? We are being beset by common street thugs that are also enemies of the country, our traditions, and our Constitution. What a great category of people to be a member of. These people properly deserve our scorn and contempt.
  16. In all fairness, I never heard even one person say that. I never saw anyone looting and burning in the streets. I never saw where anyone got beaten in the streets for voting for Obama. I never heard anyone who boycotted Obama's inauguration. I never heard anyone say that he was not a legitimate winner of the election. I may not have agreed with a whole lot of what he said or did, but I do believe in our system of government, unlike a whole pile of Democrats, anarchists and socialists and worse.
  17. Yes speaking of clowns, it's good to see you back. I see you ran away for a couple days (must have slipped up and took your medication for a change). Well anyway, I just thought I would let you know that I noticed your absence. I know how important it is for you to get attention.....lol.
  18. There have been two times when I came close to being trampled by deer. One was over at Hemlock lake when I heard this commotion coming down the hill that turned out to be a panicked deer running down the trail that I was walking on. I have no idea what had him running like that, but I stepped off the trail just in time to let him go past. Scary event number 2 was a similar scenario where during a drive of the thicket in front of my house, several deer ran out headed exactly toward where I was standing. I had deer almost brushing me as they went by. I don't know, but I've got to believe that getting run over by a deer running full-tilt, would have to do some serious damage.
  19. The guy handled it just right in terms of minimizing damage. Can you imagine a fatally wounded pair of coyotes running through the house spraying blood all over the walls and floors and belongings.
  20. In my case, it is hard to even suggest that trespassing is without full knowledge and intent. I put up the signs with a ground rule that when approaching the line, you are never out of clear sight of at least 3 signs. The signs are laid out so there is absolutely no way that you can miss them. So every trespass situation onto my property is intentional and easily proven to be so.
  21. The "Mexico will pay for it" aspect is the simplest part of the "wall plan". We simply reduce segments of aid payments that they otherwise would have gotten from us, and "poof!", the payment from Mexico is made. As far as how effective it will be, I have seen artist's concepts, and it looks rather formidable to me. Yes there will be ways around it ...... way, way around it. Also it puts the "invaders" in a diminished area of crossing and much easier to detect and apprehend. Sure if they want to get in bad enough, they can head up to Canada and come in from the north. The problem for them there is that if they had enough money to do that, they wouldn't need to come to this country. The same problem with boats and planes. It is hard to argue that a wall would not have significant deterrent value. Just the reduced patrolling costs make it worthwhile.
  22. And who can forget those damn snakes coming out of the bales when you had them lifted up and ready to throw on the wagon. As far as loose hay, I was the little kid assigned to tramp in the hay in the mow. Yeah that little kid that suffered severely from hay fever was stomping around inside the mow ..... lol. We had the big hay fork that clamped onto the loose hay in the wagon and then was pulled up to the opening in the mow and then pulled down the tram-rail mounted to the ridge pole. It actually was quite complicated compared to the advent of hay bales. Today they don't even use bales that you can pick up by hand ....lol.
  23. I simply am re-stating the obvious since you seem to be a little too dense or just completely on the verge of mental collapse such that you are having problems understanding the point.
  24. Regarding the attempts at boycotting L.L. Bean, I fully expect a spike in sales as a result. To declare a boycott based on the personal support of one of the officers in the company is the height of lunacy that even Dems cannot swallow. It wasn't even a corporate action or decision. I think that people are growing a bit weary of all of this nonsense
