I bought this up yesterday in Region 2 (since it never gets any traffic, lol) http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/27082-poaching-on-staten-island/

Why would 'Warriors' be insulting to anyone? Why are you linking 'Warriors' specifically to Native Americans?
-
The official numbers are close to 900 on the island now, and in my opinion, that is an under reported number. I've been pitching the idea of a small, lottery based (to fund itself) supervised bow hunt to various local politicians for about a year now. Something like how the Feds run their yearly hunt at Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge on LI. Believe it or not, when they start running the numbers of how much it would cost to relocate, 'birth control' or professionally cull that amount of deer, a couple have actually heard me out. I doubt it will ever happen, but I will keep trying.

They are sentencing one guy today, just as a second story of multiple poached deer on another part of the island starts coming out. Saddest part is, they are just leaving the deer to rot after taking the head and horns. I take that back, the saddest part is the guy they caught isn't getting any jail time. http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/2015/03/poachers_are_killing_staten_is.html#incart_river

That would be my .300 WSM Remington 700 XCR II. -
It's a bad weekend for me, but I am hoping to same my boys out on Sunday morning. They each got their first deer last fall, I'm hoping to get them their first turkeys this year.

So, because they lost a fair election, they are doing what they can to make it harder to get things put on the ballot? Regardless of the cause, I do not agree with that premise. -
This. PA is very strict about where the herd can roam and doesn't let them out of those areas.

I didn't post a response, I asked for a clarification since I perceived your statement as being very 'liberal' and 'politically correct', which is unlike your normal stance on just about anything. I just wanted to make sure I was interpreting your punctuation-challenged writing style correctly. As for your actual opinion, although you are taking it to an extreme I don't share, we are on the same side of the argument. I'll leave it to Papist or VJP to challenge you, though I have a feeling they'll let it slide. -

According to one guy and some unnamed friends, on a change.org petition. You really are scraping the bottom of the barrel here, huh? -

So you're saying what? They everything should be renamed and that just the slur doesn't go far enough? I'd like to hear your fellow conservatives respond to this. -

You do know the term 'Redskin' is a slur, while the other things are objects, tribe names or people, right? To parallel your example, to name something Pizza, Napolidan, Roman, Sicilian, Venetian or Columbus is fine, however, WOP or Grease-ball would be offensive. -

I love the fact that she has been lurking this topic all day. -
Yeah, that was all I was able to find too. Although, in NYC limits, you do need to register your hives with the DOHMH (it's only been legal here a few years).
-
Well, if you come across it, please let me know. I assumed there would be some cost, since there are State Inspectors and someone has to pay for them, but I can't seem to find it listed anywhere. All I keep running across are links to the NYC registration forms. It doesn't help that the state links to http://www.masterbeekeeper.org/and that page is down.
-
Dom, Can you provide a link that says you need a permit? I can't find one. The closest I can find is that if you live in NYC you must register with the Department of Health. I just found out that since 2010, beekeeping has been allowed within the city limits, so now I'm looking into the feasibility of it.

Did you see the part where they raised 4.7 million already? I'm pretty sure they are past the Shark Tank phase.
-
Doc, what you said is simply untrue. Did you actually read the information on the site? Nothing is "unspecified" about it at all. It's not a scam, it's called crowd-funding. They started out trying to raise $70,000 and have over $4.7 million. If you look at the page, it tells you specifically what you get for the different levels of donations, or you can just donate any amount if you want to support the cause. From what I read, for a complete kit including box, tubes, combs, etc, it is $600. But you don't have to buy the whole thing. The breakdowns are all listed on the page.

Only bad part about that is they will put the bear down for killing her, even though she brought it on herself. -
Does anyone here keep bees? If you do, what do you think about that new type of hive that's making such a buzz on social media? (forgive me, terrible pun) https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/flow-hive-honey-on-tap-directly-from-your-beehive
