At first when I was posting this topic I myself was like who cares about the use of a compass.I learned from my Dad and many others that the compass is one of the instruments to be in every back pack.,This was for most new and upcoming hunters hikers.the size or amount of land that we hunt the weather will always be a factor.

Boil water crack eggs into water and boil 1-2 mins only with slotted spoon remove and plate them.

I stopped by Troopers sub station and ask them to give me a call for fresh road kill.I was asked for my contact number and drivers/pictur Id they said they would be in contact with me.

Have to use artificial in the house wife is allergic to pine trees.So I planted a blue spruce outside for my enjoyment this also has given some birds a warm home.

This is how I make mine.Venison heart spread served on wheat toast.1DeerHeart 2-3 oz creamcheese softened 1tsp prepared mustard 1 T salsa (or ketchup)1tsp garlicpowder 1 tsp dried minced onion 1tsp pepper 1/2tsp salt.Thoroughly rinse heat place in a pot with enough water to cover bring to a boil reduce heat and simmer 1-1/2 hours.let cool slice/cut all fat and hard tissue away.Next place in food processor and blen to the consistancy of bread crums add cream cheese and other spices and blend them together.Time to eat enjoy.

Ihave eaten them from a bull but never from a deer or goat.The tongue is not so bad when cooked or pickled the correct way.Would I try them yes Ihave tryed many things that would make you think I was from another country.Ever tried blood sausage or pudding made from Hogs blood?

Not many road kills this season a few but not like years past.Road kill counts to me some meat on the table not the same as shooting one but they taste just as good.

This a great Question and some may learn from this.How many people/hunters go out hunting/hiking and only bring enough supply to last only a few hours?So you have been hunting/hiking and lost your way you have no compass and just the clothes you went out with what do or would you do if you had an unexpected stay in the wood's?

Another day and no kill's I saw 2 deer on the way home eating under a bird feeder.I did enjoy my time in the woods thermos of coffee an 2 ppj sanwiches.
