...I can give her a good reason. I want a chocolate to go with my yellow lab. So maybe you guys can help me out with some good reasons I need another dog.

wish we got that twist.

I say goose BC I'm not seeing any little back toe and the spacing on them seems too close.

ah man. great story. when's the season open up there? Birds seem to be starting a bit early this year.

If its just you and you have waders, I might ditch the canoe. IDK if it would cause them to flare too much, but I think hiding just yourself is easier. Otherwise, without looking at the land, I would watch where birds just naturally funnel in and out of the area. More than anything, get to a range and do some skeet, trap and sporting clays. You will need the practice and owe it to the birds to be proficient in your weapon. And start on your calling.

Looks real nice. He looks young too. Did you age him? I wonder what a couple more years would have done for his rack. Still, I wouldn't have passed.

I'm not sure if you are too far from Montezuma, but I would start scouting it this summer.

I pulled over last night to watch about 30 turkeys in a field. I got out my spotting scope and saw 7 toms strutting away. Some very nice birds in this flock, but I know I can't hunt the land, already asked. Farmer is afraid I might shoot a cow, seriously. Still, it was really cool to see them showing off.

Also, just fyi, with adchoice (which is what is on our site) they try to tailor the ads to your web browsing or email history. Course, that's not always accurate...I know I don't need any Viagara...

the FS blog had several deer in PA with headgear still on. Didn't offer an explanation but did provide pictures from trailcams.

I had some gift cards to BPS and decided to get a B-mobile. When it came in the mail today, I took it out and am less than impressed. The body won't unfurl. I have read to use a hair dryer, but I'm wondering if I'll have to do this everytime. Anyone else use it and like it. I don't want to spend the time using an old fan and putting the feathers in the holder if I'm just going to return it.

I recall on a trip to Bass Pro last fall that they made some for kids, they were so small I thought they were just a novelty. I wish I could remember the name or something. Perhaps googling them or searching their site might help.

I too like the versatility of the handheld version. but I was thinking in reality wouldn't you have to have your bow drawn back to sight in the animal and get an accurate reading and then press the button to activate the vendetta? if so, if you have multiple pins, then you could adjust right then. however, I only shoot one pin, and don't think i have the ability to change it on the fly lik that. am i just over thinking this?

I'll be down just east of Raleigh, NC for their opening weekend. Trail cams have birds all over the 200acre farm my buddy and I are hunting. It's his first season without his dad, so him and I are gonna make the best of it. Hopefully I can come back with a couple of toms.

I took in my gold carp I bowfished this past summer and the taxidermist didn't think it was odd. He says he mounts a few pet koi every year.

So I was driving by one of my fields and saw about 500 Canada's in it, no big deal now that the season's closed. But in the middle of the flock I saw white bodies and I started thinking: snow goose season isn't over... So I got out my spotting scope and looked it over from about a quarter mile away. They weren't snow geese, but I was surprised to see Tundra/Trumpeter swans! I had never seen any in this area before. There were about 50 of them spread theroughout the rest of the birds. The coolest thing was when the Canada's all flew of en mass, the Trumpeters just stood there staring at them with their heads up like "where are you going?" made my day since it won't warm up and the sun refuses to break through.

Migrating flocks all around here in Niagara County. I even saw a flock of snows, about 40 of them. Wish I could have gotten a picture but I was driving.

So I dropped by yesterday. It was worth going to. The show hasn't really grown, but it hasnt shrinked either. IF you go online you can get $2 off your ticket. I enjoyed myself, spent about 3 hours there wandering around. More outfitters this year, less artsy stuff. And a new pickle place.

I went last year and wasn't disappointed. Ton's of stuff to see and do, something like 5 buildings. I spent about 3 hours there and felt like I rushed through. I'll be going again tomorrow or Saturday. Last year I picked up some rodent skull earrings for my wife. Somehow they ended up being the only piece of jewelry in my mancave.

speaking from military experience I know negligent discharges happen, but they always seemed to happen to boneheads. The entire time I carried a 9mm, M-16, or a shotgun I never had an ND. I'm not judging this guy before it I know the details, but to not know how it happened ought not be an excuse for a professional.

I use mine mainly because of the padded seat feature. However, I was thinking about downgrading because this past fall I went to just a buttpack for deer hunting. I'm usually within a couple hundred yards of my truck if I need anything else. BUt my vest is so organized, not hot at all, and is very easy to keep track of, so I'll probably just keep it. I'm dragging it out tomorrow to check it over and repack it all. I think I like playing with my gear as much as I do hunting, or maybe its just been a long winter...

Doc, I know down south there is a market for them. People put them in garages and workhouses. I've seen the Pickers buy signs too thinking they overpay, but they sell to higher echelon in Nashville, so they can charge more. Often they already have a "shopping list" and know that they will sell that sign. Still, I think its too rich for my blood.

I've been hearing gobblers for the better part of two weeks now. I hope they know to hold on till May. I've seen several large flocks at my farms, more than the past few years. My hope is that just two stick around for me. Got skunked last year. I am going to NC for opening day in April, to the highest concentration of birds in the state.

I moved up here from Nasvhille. I was there for a few years. PM me if you need any specific info about anything down there.
