I'm a late bloomer too. Although I married into a hunting family and have been in it for nearly 30 years (dated my wife for 8 yrs married for 22) I started hunting in 2007, so it's only been 7 years for me and I started with Turkey. But I just got my 13 yr old son into it so God willing I plan on hunting the next 30 years with him!

For Sale: Springfree Trampoline 2010

I'm selling our 2010 Springfree trampoline model number SF68 11foot square. It's in very good condition. My kids stopped using it 2 years ago - they are involved in too many other extracurricular activities so we have no use for it and it's been sitting for 2 years. Here is the manual: http://www.springfreetrampoline.com/sites/springfreetrampoline.com/files/files/pdf/manuals/SF68_ENG_1.0_web.pdf Asking $1400 - you need to arrange disassembly, pick up and re-assembly. Wood Kingdom may do it for a small fee. PM me if you are interested. -
I'm interested to see how this pans out on appeal... WASHINGTON — A federal judge on Saturday overturned the Washington, D.C., ban on carrying handguns outside the home, saying it was unconstitutional. “There is no longer any basis on which this court can conclude that the District of Columbia’s total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny,” said Judge Frederick J. Scullin Jr. of the District of Columbia District Court. “Therefore, the court finds that the District of Columbia’s complete ban on the carrying of handguns in public is unconstitutional,” he added in his 19-page ruling on the case, Palmer v. District of Columbia, which has been dragging on for five years. The court ordered the city to allow residents to carry handguns outside their homes and to let nonresidents carry them as well. In 2008, the Supreme Court struck down the District of Columbia’s all-out ban on handguns on the basis that it violated the right to bear arms guaranteed by the Constitution’s Second Amendment. An appeals court in 2011 required handguns to be registered.

Yeah I decided not to buy them. Read some reviews too and mostly bad ones. So I'll stick with my shwackers. I may pick up some warm clothes for the cold mornings in November. Sent with Tapatalk on my Samsung Galaxy 4

I went to dicks today and saw the Toxic broadheads on sale. I pick one up and walk over to one of the workers there who happened to be talking to someone who was wearing some kind of archery T-shirt. I stand there listening to this guy talkng and he sounded like some kind of expert. I ask the question and he spouts off "well in my opinion they are not barbed so that would not make them illegal but the real question is whether a curved cutting blade is legal to use in NY. I don't know was his answer. I ask so why are they sold here? and he just stares at me. All the while we are standing next to the Buck juice and C'mere Deer feed and I casually say to him well at least I know these are not legal to use for any reason in NY while pointing to the bags I thank him, tell him I'll stick with my shwackers and walk away. Does anyone know much about these broadheads? How do they fly? Most importantly are they legal in NY?

Went to Dicks today and picked up a code blue double tank battery operated drop time scent dispenser for $7.00 and an Evercalm Stink stick for $9.00. Some good sales going on there, clothes on clearance. Etc... May have to go back again....

Had a few come around my yard and feed from my feeder. I started growing a Clematis vine with purple flowers indoors in April and it just bloomed last weekend. Hoping it will attract more of those lttle buzzing birds. They represent eternal life and good health.

Funny you said that. We have two trees just at the far corner of my property where I used to hang it and my wife called it is a monstrosity and why dont you just tie it to the trees? It was a pain having to drag out the ropes etc. I told her I wanted something where I can unroll the hammock and attach the rings on the hooks without much effort. I won for now ...

Good question! I don't know... Guess I'll find out next weekend! Lol!Well I'll be... http://www.yellawood.com/resources/painting-and-staining.aspx A project's not done until it's finished. And when it comes to outdoor projects, it's not finished until it's been stained, sealed or painted. You probably know that wood swells when it gets wet and shrinks when it dries. The susceptibility to weather cycles is hard on wood and can lead to splits, cracks, checks and other appearance issues. To minimize these concerns, it's important to finish your project as soon as possible after completion. In the past, people waited 6 months or so before finishing projects that use pressure treated wood. That's no longer the case with newer treatments like the micronized copper preservatives used to treat YellaWood® brand products. Now your project could be ready to be finished within 30 days of completion depending on a number of factors including your local weather conditions. Certain products, like our RainWood® brand products with a factory-applied water repellent, may take longer to dry out enough to accept a paint or stain. Here are some guidelines for sealing, staining and painting. Sealing - For a natural pine appearance, apply a transparent or semi-transparent water repellent - Apply within 6 weeks of completion and reapply annually - Pick a sealant with UV stabilizers to help ease the impact of the sun - Follow manufacturer's recommendations for application Staining - Apply when surface is dry and reapply as needed - Perform a "sprinkle test" to check for dryness (see below) - Look for a stain that has the longest manufacturer's warranty, has a water repellent and a UV stabilizer - Follow manufacturer's recommendations for application

I've been wanting to build a hammock stand for a while now but never found the time to do it. This afternoon my wife took my daughter out shopping and my son was on his play station and I had no work to do so I decided what the heck let's do this. "Git 'er done"! I found the plans on the Internet a while ago. I went to home depot last weekend and bought the wood and bolts thinking I could do it one evening during the week but that never happened. I went with pressure treated wood because I wanted to leave it outside. After some measuring, cutting, and screwing, 2 hours later this is the result. (Compound saw and jig saw come in handy) I plan on rounding the corners on the posts and staining the whole stand to match my Adirondack chairs but that's for another day. Here are some up close photos of the stand. M Parts list: 2- 84" 2x4 base 2- 36" 2×4 for base 2-60" 2×4 cut at 45° at one end 2 - 12"2×4 cut at 45° at one end 4- 5" × 1/2" lag bolts and nuts and washers Decking screws Tools Compound saw for miter cuts Jig saw for notches Screw gun Measuring tape Level And this is my view right now ....
