  1. Two blinds caved in due to snow load. Just got done brushing them off. At least 12" on my deck.
  2. At 7:20 I had a doe come running in with a 3 pt. Chasing hard. Tounges hanging out and panting. Then comes a small 6 pt and the 2 bucks start fighting. The 6 walked away and the 3 continued to chase. Come on big boy!
  3. I was just reminded how fast things can happen. I was watching a doe and fawn in front of the house when another doe came running out of the woods with a buck hot on her trail. No time to even put binoculars on him, and they haven't been back.
  4. Very few rubs and scrapes here in 4p, at least where I am hunting. I know that there are bucks here.
  5. Checked the cams at midday. A lot of bucks, regulars, new large and small. Only one following a doe. Mostly at night. Best day pics 11/7 Been soaking since 11/5
  6. Hell Yeah, I miss the Monday opener! Those were the good old days. Lot of fun back then. Those who belong to a camp know what I mean.
  7. A doe and two fawns feeding in front of me, sounded like deer running in the woods where they came from.
  8. Set up in a blind in the field by the house. I actually have wifi. Seen 3 at the other end of the field.
  9. Headed out for the last 2 hours after the rain stopped. Walking out of the basement I notice a doe and fawn at the bottom of the field, walking down the driveway I look back behind the house and here comes another doe and two fawns. I continued across the street and saw nothing. Walking up the driveway I see 3 behind the house and 8 below the house. Why do I go out in the woods? My girlfriend said a half rack came in and chased a doe out of the field. I tried a decoy the other night when 2 of the eights were out but no luck. I have to focus on this field but it is tough to hunt. I would clear it in the morning and I have cleared it leaving at night.
  10. Small buck just came out, just feeding with the does.
  11. Had some chasing activity at first light in the distance. At 8:30 I had a small buck wander through. No purpose, grunted and bleated to him with no response.
  12. Of course I bumped One on the way in. I just got this smart phone 6 months ago. It's been fun to know what is being seen around the state. Thanks everyone! Good luck!
  13. I had 10 does and fawns out in a field by the house, and two different bucks at different times came through and lightly harassed them and moved on. The one buck came through twice. I think the best is yet to come.
  14. My county has a mapping tool on it's website that allows you an overview of all property, acres, owners and address. It is fairly accurate and I use it quite often.
  15. Young bucks have been harassing the does for the past 4 days in front of my house.
  16. Live from the house. Just had an eight point chasing does in front of the house. Snow is coming down.
  17. So I got done fixing the fuel intake problem on my Husqvarna leaf blower and I went out to give her a test run. It was dark but I could see with the dusk to dawn light on. I got about 80 yards down the driveway when a coyote jumps the rock wall and stands in the driveway about 15 yards away. I kept the blower going at full speed and started back peddling toward the house. I got to the house turned the blower off. My girlfriend was smoking on the deck, I told her to get the spotlight. There in the driveway stands the coyote and he just turned and walked slowly toward the road. I don't know if the blower sounds like howling or something dying, but this coyote was definitely comfortable with it.
  18. Thanks, I am going to get an enclosed cab and front end loader.
  19. I'm looking into a tractor in the 55hp range. I think I have figured out at least 100 tasks I can use it for around the house and property including firewood, food plots, and snow removal. I'm looking for member experiences with different manufactures. I have owned a John Deere X700 lawn tractor for 10 years with no regrets. Anybody own any New Holland, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, or other tractors that they are partial to. What are peoples preferred method of snow removal? Snow blowers, back blades, front blades or snow pushers. I have a 200yd driveway that can accumulate 5' drifts in the right conditions. Any in put will be appreciated. Thanks!
  20. It is a sad day for me. My sweet 2005 Chevy Silverado's health has not been good of late. She has had cancer for a while and the bed has just been falling apart, the roof is the only panel with no rust. She won't pass her emissions test, her brakes are worn, her ball joints are whipped. I barely made it home from work today with an ailing transmission, but I made it, she has never stranded me. I knew it would be her last ride as I pulled her into the driveway. 2005 and only 123,456 hard miles. Plowing snow, hauling firewood, hunting trips, Nascar races, endless trips to work. We've been through a lot together in the last 12 years and I will miss her. Goodbye and thanks for the ride!
  21. Not me, I feel the population is still down here in 4P. One more mild winter would help.
