    I always pack my coat in. I'll sit in the stand and cool off before putting coat and gaiter on. Using a boot dryer ensures my boots are dry.

    And here comes a deer! No horns.

    Gonna bail soon as I have a few things to do around the house. Be back at it this afternoon. Heater body suit make it feel like a spring day!

    10 degrees and calm. I was amazed at all the deer tracks on my short 300 yard walk in. I’m pretty excited! Good luck all and stay warm.

    I had this Scentite blind given to me, all I had to do was go get it before the neighbor sold the property. I elevated it on 8’ 4x4’s. I absolutely hate it. I can’t see out the windows and I’m always humped over in the chair trying to peek out. Windows are just too low in my opinion and the plastic walls are very noisy. When building blinds make sure your windows are big enough and at the right height.

    Main goal was to get a Christmas Tree. Along the way I saw 5 does and I cut a bear track. No mature bucks on my cameras.

    One of the guys brought his kids to deer camp this year. He said that's all they talk about. They can't wait to go back. We already set a weekend aside in January to head to camp just to drink, eat, and relax. So looking forward to it!

    Only cut one track on my way in. I’m not far from the road though. Quite a few deer out in the winter rye last night. Not sure why they’re so nocturnal, I seem to be the only one hunting them around here. Couple hours on stand this morning and then I’ll check cameras. Good luck!

    17 degrees, a stiff wind, and a light dusting.

    No PM sightings.

    And two does and two fawns just ran in. Hopefully something follows.

    Early action with a spike feeding about 60 yards out. First deer seen in 3 days.

    Out behind the house in the WiFi blind. The brassicas is mowed and turnip production was not great. There is a couple patches of winter rye. There were seven deer in here before it got light this morning. Time will tell.

    That was weird! I’m halfway up my ladder and I noticed two deer get up about 40 yards away. I continued to climb and I pull my gun up. Two more deer get up from their beds. All four of these deer are down wind of me.. I notice two more deer headed my way, all does and fawns. One doe saw me and she came right to my stand as the others fed. I felt like I was in a petting zoo. They all fed for an hour an a half and finally worked their way to a field. Almost no fear of me. Not sure what the deal is.

    I have had great luck with Goodyear Wrangler Authority sold at Walmart. Plowing snow , mud or highway.

    Saw 6 does and fawns tonight. Getting a groove going! Total of eight sighted today!

    Like anyone else I don’t like educating deer of my stand locations. So after that spike bedded in front of me this morning for the third time and I had to leave I tried a new tactic. I figured I would snort wheeze, trying to intimidate him and frighten him off. So with my mouth I snort wheezed and that spike got up and came right in to ten yards looking. It still took him 20 minutes to wander away but mission accomplished.

    Spike bedded down in front of me for two hours. Now back on his feet feeding. Please go away, I need to move.

    Just had a 6 pointer go by. Same one from opening morning.

    Smelled one and then bumped one on the way in. Warm, no wind and some fog.

    Went and checked cameras after a one week soak and it matches my observations, very little movement. Only one spike and a few does. I'll keep plugging away!

    Just had a doe come through being trailed by a spike.
