    While climbing down I saw a half rack take off. I believe he was bedded in some hinge cutting from a couple of years ago. I hate educating deer. Non shooter for me. Oh well, out to vote!

    Lone button buck just strolled through.

    Had one small buck come into the decoy at dark. It kept it's distance but remained focused on it. Finally he wandered away.

    Small doe and another unknown deer just caught my wind. And speaking of wind, 30 mph gusts can go away anytime now!

    Just had an encounter with an eight pointer. I stopped him with a grunt as he was walking away. He made a scrape and worked his way down the ridge. Never got within 50 yds. of me.

    A flock of turkeys just passed through. Thinking about rattling in a bit.

    I just gave the rattle bag a try and a small eight pointer came in running. As I lost sight of him a four pointer came in rubbing and scraping. Quick action.

    Found one rub while mowing the lawn two day’s ago. Also found a scrape last week.

    I went to the County Tax Map Office and looked at what similar parcels sold for and compared. Also I got recent tax bills of the property and it shows assessed value on it. It might look low but it a starting point.

    I bought my first Hyperfire in 2018. It's been in a lockbox screwed to a tree since I got it and I just changed the batteries for the first time. Reliability!

    I don't know how much of an area you sprayed but I would plant a variety. But as EJ stated the sooner the better for the brassica and you still have some time for the rye. I planted my brassica around July 20th and my Rye last week. Both are doing great. Have fun with it and don't be afraid to try new things. It's enjoyable watching something you planted come to life and then watching the deer react to it.

    I plant both just not together. I have Rye plots and Brassica Plots. My two favorite plantings.

    Don't plant winter rye and brassica together! Rye will starve the brassica.

    I messed up my land owner status online and was denied. I called the Hotline on Tuesday and got it squared away, I hope. We'll see if it arrives. First time I ever had a problem doing it myself online.
