  1. I believe these are otters. Neat pictures but there is no water within 1/2 mile.
  2. Ended up seeing at least a dozen deer. Had a wide 6 point within range but several does under me and they eventually caught my wind. The buck watched them run off and he casually circled out of range. Still not sure if I would take him. Fun and eventful sit for my first time out this year.
  3. And a 4 pointer. And another doe and fawn. And another doe and two fawns. Fun sit so far.
  4. First time out this year. A doe and a fawn winded me but ran around me. Now they’re feeding in the field about 150 yds away.
  5. Not a fan of Busch but love RCR. Busch is a hell of a driver though and I think they will be successful. Didn't think they're were any NASCAR followers on here.
  6. If I pass one on the first day it get's a free pass for the season. When I was younger I would shoot the first buck that I saw and was always happy with my decision.
  7. More like the view of the porch from the lawn but I did a little fall decorating this morning.
  8. Just got about .15" of rain. First time in over a week and a half. Not much in the forecast either.
  9. That's why I love reading these threads, I've picked up lot's of great tricks. Never thought of this. Thanks!
  10. Rolled with a cultipacker and sprayed with Gly about 3 days later. Pretty tough stuff as it started to stand back up. I guess a crimper would work but I don't have one.
  11. I rolled my standing winter rye in early June and planted my pumpkins in it. It kept the weeds down. I slung some Antler King Slam Dunk into the dead rye and that came in nice also.
  12. Planted a small plot of Antler King Honey Hole (brassica) last Sunday into standing buckwheat and rolled it. Got rain that night and it was coming up in 4 days.
  13. Checked a couple cams the other day and had this pic.
  14. Got it today. Bought the Lifetime 21 years ago for $750 with bow and muzzleloader.
  15. Nothing new in farming practice but my first try. I let my winter rye grow and then rolled it with a cultipacker. It started to stand back up so I sprayed it with gly. I hand planted a pile of pumpkins and sunflowers in it. It’s all growing with no weed competition and the dead rye helps hold in moisture. I also broadcasted Antler King Slam Dunk in the far section of rye and that is coming in nicely. Always fun watching a plan come together.
  16. Mowing lawns and shoveling snow when I was a kid. During high school I loaded furniture into trailers at night. Always had money in my pocket.
  17. Who cares! Sarah Beth Lawhorn I believe.
  18. Solid Grill. Mine is about 10-12 years old. It's outside all year and it is covered when not in use. Clean it regularly, which is easy, and it will give you years of trouble free service. You get what you pay for! Enjoy it and good luck!
  19. Walked about 4 miles and only heard two very distant gobbles. Only excitement I had was spotting this yearling buck. He let me get about 10 yds away before he would move. I’m guessing someone nearby feeds him and he somewhat used to people.
  20. Just picked up 10 50lbs. bags of 15-15-15 for $22 a bag. Didn’t think that was bad at all. I was going to buy it no matter what, I enjoy it way too much. That should get me through the year.
  21. I’ve set up on birds every morning so far. They seem to fly down and head the opposite way. Hens! I walked 6 miles the first day, 4 miles yesterday and 5 today. No late morning gobbles. All I have to show for is this dead head.
  22. I hope it gets done! I would rather go to work in the dark and have daylight when I get home.
