Dual Pistol Registration
fasteddie replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I am in Wayne County and my son is in Monroe County. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -
Does anyone do this with a relative ? I was told at a gun shop that I could fill out a form to have my son , who has a pistol permit , as a dual owner . The advantage of this is ..... if something happens to me , the dual owner would automatically become the sole owner and the government wouldn't get the pistols .

Good point Doc . I have accumulated a few "junk cameras" over the years . Tried to replace some of the internal batteries but they are soldered into to camera guts . I was liking the Primos CR Truth Cams but had 2 infested with ants . Easy to take apart . Cleaned out the webs , whatever and used the compressor to blow out the internals . Still couldn't get the cameras to turn on . Cheap Wildgame cameras may be the way to go but they don't take multi-shots . What I see on the cameras during the summer changes by fall as crops are harvested and the Deer movement changes .

Not a problem . I carry my hunting clothes in a sealed tote and put them on when I get to the place I am going to hunt .

I would think that a crossbow would be more effective than a compound . Easier to tweak the sight (scope) . Faster than a compound ... Stryker is 405 fps . Can be shot from a rest . Cocked until the trigger is pulled . Easy enough whereby a novice can shoot bullseyes in no time . What's with the "follow up shot" ? With the accuracy of a crossbow , it shouldn't be necessary .

From my friend's TC in Walworth ........ some bucks aren't camera shy

I have one on my pack and a copy on my back in blaze orange holders I also put the deer tag on the ear with a zip tie and then another zip tie around the ear to make sure it stays in ....

Wait until it looks down the barrel and pull the trigger .

My son hasn't put out a trail cam but ..... there is a spot in Mendon where he has seen 12 bucks during a sitting in the evening . He has crop damage permits and the bucks are out but the does have been coming out too late . I know they can be shot up until 11 pm but we have never shot them in the dark hours .

They have been logging almost a mile south of my friends and a couple houses were built back off the road about 1/2 mile south of the property . I am wondering if this is causing the deer to travel my friends property more frequently . Any thought on this ?

I call our bathroom "the Jim" . When I tell people that I go to the Jim quite often , they are impressed !

quick way to view trail pics on phone

Do some research on the adaptors and check out the reviews . Some are not compatable with various phones . The adaptors aren't that big / bulky . Here is mine with a SD card next to it . -
Pretty vague ..... no mention as to how far from the road a person has to be . Question: How far off the highway must I be before I can discharge my firearm, crossbow or longbow? Answer: The Environmental Conservation Law prohibits you from discharging the firearm, crossbow or longbow in such a manner that the arrow, bolt, bullet or load of shot passes over any portion of the highway, which may include maintained portions including the shoulder, drainage ditches, etc.

On the Samsung S5 I can open a picture and enlarge it to see better . I will be able to tell if a camera that is 50 miles away isn't working right on the spot rather than get home and find out . Just another inexpensive toy . -

Thanks . I will give that a try tomorrow . I found that I can put the pics on a grid instead of list and that helps . Still experimenting . Glad you brought the topic up to begin with . -

I received a card reader that plugs into my Samsung S5 . I put a SD card in and can open it and see the pics but I can't view them like in the Gallery . I have to close each picture and open the next . Gotta figure out something else . No instructions . Pretty neat gadget though . -
No but my friend's kid rode the ATV out there this afternoon and said that buck was bedded down out by the swamp so he didn't ride any farther after spooking the buck . I hope the buck went by one of my cameras .

I was under the impression that a property line was 30 feet from a highway center line .
