I loaded my NEF Huntsman at the beginning of season last year . Never got a shot . I fired it this past Tuesday to check it out . Right on . No problem .

Next game - Bills at Patriots on Monday Night Football and the following week the Doe-Felons come to town .

When I went to reload my ML after shooting a doe yesterday , the sabot didn't want to come out of the speed loader . Too tight . I headed for Webster to buy a pack of the speed loaders but stopped at Eastside Traders on the way to see if they had any . They are a Pawn Shop , Gun shop and have a indoor pistol range . When I got there , I saw a sign on the door that said " Remove Mask Before Entering" . I thought it was a joke but everyone inside was not wearing a mask . I asked what was the no mask sign for and was told that they can't sell a gun or ammo unless they could see you face . I thought it was stupid as if I was to purchase either , I could pull my mask down . It was a wasted stop anyway !

Went to my son's property in Honeoye Falls this afternoon . Sat out in a hub blind . The blind is pretty well secluded but doesn't have much of a shooting window . Around 4pm a small doe came into view . I was holding out for a bigger deer but wasn't going to wait until dark for one to come in . Most of the time the deer was facing me at about 55 - 60 yards . Around 4:20 she moved sideway and into an opening . I pulled the hammer back on my NEF Huntsman and fired . All I could see was a big cloud of smoke . I reloaded and went to check for blood . Found blood and followed the trail . She went about 40 yards and crashed . Matt came out with the ATV , field dressed the deer , loaded it in the sled and took it to the barn to butcher otherwise it would freeze overnight .The deer was a doe fawn . At least I know the ML is accurate out to 60 yards .

I have a heated Milwaukee jacket that I wear over a vest and a couple under layer long sleeve shirts . Also wore insulated Bib overalls which kept my back / Kidneys warm .I was comfortable today sitting out in 21 degree weather . My feet got cold while wearing LaCrosse ( Herman Munster) insulated boots , toe warmers and heated insoles . My wife bought me a Milwaukeed heated sweatshirt for Christmas .

About 1pm Matt ( my oldest son 0 and I headed for our spots on my ATV . We kicked 4 doe out of the gully lot and they ran across the neighbor's field to the west . I gave Matt the Condo stand at the pond and I went to my stand in the thickets . I took a folding chair to use rather than sitting in the ladder stand . Nothing came in from where I had been getting pictures from . At about 4:10 I packed up and did a slow walk through the thickets to see if I could push anything to Matt . Got a lot of snow down my neck from all the stuff falling from the little trees . When I got to Matt , he packed up and met me . He said he had a small doe and a fawn go across the horse trail at about 60 yards from him . Was hoping for a larger deer and didn't shoot . We got on my ATV and left . When I left the parking area , I headed West on Lima Road . Just before I got to North Road , I had 4 deer cross the road in front of me . I saw a 5th deer at the side of the road and I stopped and it crossed the road also . Glad I had my brights on so I could see farther up the road or I might have hit one . No shot but it was still an interesting day .

Going to head out to Geneseo in a little bit to do an afternoon hunt with the ML . We had about 3" of snow in Ontario . No idea what Geneseo got . No doubt , it's going to be a cold sit . Snow-blowed the driveway and then use the leaf blower to clean off the car and ATV .

My 1st car was a '59 Volkswagon . I have had several Standard shift cars since . My last was a 2001 Chevy S-10 pickup .

When I googled 2008 Honda Foreman 420 spark plug on my phone so I could pick up a spark plug on the way home I found something interesting . Apparently there is a Bolt in the bottom of the muffler . The directions say to remove the bolt , start the engine , block the exhaust port and rev the engine 20 times to clear the carbon from the spark arrester . I wouldn't have known this if I hadn't GOOGLEd for the plug . The bolt removal was referred to as the Spark Arrester . Has anyone done this procedure ? It says to do it every 100 run hours .

What do you do to survive sitting out in the real cold weather ? I find that I haven't learned to walk slow enough to any stand . I usually work up a little sweat and then after a little while , I cool down and get cold . 18 degree weather is no picnic to be sitting out in the woods . Even if it's 30 degrees out , if it was 16 degrees overnight , that tree that you are sitting against with your back is still 16 degrees . Suggestions ?

No snow here yet . ! am 2 miles South of Lake Ontario . We usually get a lot of Lake effect snow . It was 18 degrees at 8am today . Cccccccold !

I Said I would never buy another Wildview camera as they only click one picture at a time . I was at DICKs and saw the Wildview WV12 that will take as many a 3 pics when motion is detected . The cameras were $49.98 but on sale for $24.98 . I had a $20 off coupon and bought 4 of them to give away as gifts . The camera is a 12 megapixel , .7 second trigger speed and a 60 foot range . It said Quick Set but I found it a pain in the butt to program . I tried the camera in the house but need to test it outside .

We have a crapload of stands . To name a few - creek stand , south laneway stands , laneway stand , willow tree stand , south ditch stand , north ditch stand ( aka The Killer Stand) , middle stand , horse trail stand , Nick's doe stand , Sanctuary stand , The Condo , crop field stand etc ......

No problem here , I use loose powder .

Bring your own folding tables to jump onto and crash !

Isn't that a shame . Didn't hear any complaints when the Bills had players on IR for previous wins .

I haven't been in Sportsman's Warehouse in Henrietta in a while . They seemed to have a large supply of ammo .

Waiting until Thursday to go out with the ML . Let the deer calm down .
