And it begins already Washington (CNN) -- In the wake of Friday's school shooting in Connecticut that killed nearly 30 people, most of them children, the White House said President Barack Obama will consider a reinstatement of the assault weapons ban in his second term. "It does remain a commitment of his," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters about the Clinton-era ban that expired in 2004. The response inched the administration closer to reviewing thorny Second Amendment issues following several high profile shootings, a topic Obama carefully avoided in his first term. Though the weapon used in the shooting has not been identified, the massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School renewed public policy focus on gun control and ownership. "I am absolutely horrified by news of the cold-blooded shooting of dozens of children in Newtown, Connecticut. Yet another unstable person has gotten access to firearms and committed an unspeakable crime against innocent children," said Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, in a statement. "We cannot simply accept this as a routine product of modern American life. If now is not the time to have a serious discussion about gun control and the epidemic of gun violence plaguing our society, I don't know when is. How many more Columbines and Newtowns must we live through? I am challenging President Obama, the Congress, and the American public to act on our outrage and, finally, do something about this," Nadler said.

Go to CNN and watch obamas speech . i can see whats coming and its not good. iam not goin to get political on here . this has been goin on for a while people just not on our soil here in the usa its all over the world... i do believe there should be a screening process for say if someone is diagnosed from a mental illness and has violent tendancy;s they should not own a gun. but with that being said . they are gonna try to go after the second amendmant if you watch the video u will here what obama says.... he basically says he dont care what the political right is something has to be done.......its a sad day for sure . and iam sorry for the familys this has affected. god bless....

what people dont understand is you will never get guns off the street. and please tell me why is it always the guns fault. if somebody wanted to cause harm to another they can use anything they want to do it. I have kids myself and this pisses me off... that this kind of stuff happens. some may get mad at what i posted. but Please stop blaming guns. blame the sycho path that had the gun. these people are dangerous no matter what they use .... Godd bless

it goes on in 4b every weekend but they use rifles. they know theres no dec presence up there . and if you call dec it takes them so long to respond. and the local cops could care less., and poachers know it . and around here if you call and say they are shooting deer with a shotgun they will just tell you they are partridge or maybe they are rabbit hunting. its pathetic. so you aint alone in this matter

This was sent from my local gun shop to me via facebook ''oakwood trading post'' The Cuomo administration and legal counsel from the NYSP are working together to prepare anti-gun law's for the legislature's next session! On it are the following -TOTAL BAN on AR-15 style rifle's Microstamping 10 day waiting period ... 1 gun a month ammunition background check and immediate revocation of Pistol License upon involuntary committment. Food for though peep's - they are being reviewed and patiently await the finished product! this is bullshit... i cant believe they do this crap

and they are also trying to ban all clip fed guns . not just semi auto's. Gun Grabber and hypocritical elitist NY State Senator Chuck Schumer added an Amendment banning all belts, magazines , or other firearms feeding devices over a 10 round capacity yesterday to a pending Cyber Security Bill. As I have previously pointed out, this proposal goes even further then the now expired 1994 to 2004 Federal “Assault Weapons Ban“, in that it bans the manufacture, sale, transfer or possession of these legal firearms accessories if the Cyber Bill with Schumers Amendment becomes law, unless one owned them prior to the date the law would take effect. No mention is made of how exactly a law-abiding Citizen would be required to prove they owned such items prior to an arbitrary date. People don’t generally keep receipts for such things for very long, if at all. So, if the worst came to pass and the magazine ban becomes law, will 10′s of millions of law-abiding Citizens be forced to destroy or turn in their lawfully purchased and legally owned property simply because they cant prove when they acquired it? Then there’s the fact, if Citizens are required to turn in or destroy their property to come into compliance, will they be compensated for their losses? If so, by who? How? Who decides what the items are worth? Large numbers of firearms owners have significant amounts of money invested in their collections and accessories. What about the Constitutional hazard of such a clear “ex-post facto” law? Wait, this is Chuck Schumer after all, he and his fellow tyrants in the Gun Control movement dont care about such pesky details like the Constitutionality of what they want or its consequences. After-all, following the law is something for “the little people”, not Elitist’s like Schumer and his co-conspirator’s. The Expanded Antler Restrictions - Who is excited?
silent death replied to TheHunter's topic in Deer Hunting
the problem is land in the southern tier 4b and 4s is hard to come bye. most people hold there land to them selves and family. and the 340 acres i hunt theres only 6 of us who have permission to hunt it but people still sneak on. but with 4s having the ar this year iam just concerned that those people that hunt in that zone will be looking elsewhere like 4b and so on to hunt where there aint a ar . just my 2 cents . i know a couple of landowners in 4s that are not happy with what the dec said they can shoot on there property and in a way i understand its there property they pay for the taxes and everything for it. if anything make the wmu state lands in any county ar that way the deer will have a safe zone to grow bigger. that would make more sense -
The Expanded Antler Restrictions - Who is excited?
silent death replied to TheHunter's topic in Deer Hunting
I just wonder with this in affect how many people will leave the 4s region to hunt on 4b with no restriction. i hunt on 4b and we catch people every year poaching and jacking on the property iam wondering if this year is gonna be worse. ill have to put up more signs . it is bad enough the cops have to patrol the property as it was last year do to the people coming on the property and theres state land right down the rd
