  1. Great story Stevie, I felt like I was there, again congratulations. Al
  2. Congratulations, he is a beauty, sounds like you had a great hunt and experience, I went Elk hunting many moons ago, an old fashioned pack train hunt, ended up with a small bull but the whole experience was a blast! Al
  3. He certainly does look to have some size to him. Al
  4. Was out for a little while this morning, decided to change things up some and use a handgun. The Smith and Wesson model 17 masterpiece is one of my favorites and one of the first handguns I purchased. It is very accurate and I used it one whole season for Bullseye competition shooting. Alas these days my eyes and shooting ability are not what they used to be, I had two misses before I scored but it was great to get the old revolver out and give her some love. Al
  5. Been hammering the Squirrels pretty good, one of the best seasons in quite a while, knocked one off with the Christensen Arms Ranger this morning. The Squirrel skinning jig I picked up last summer has been working out great. Al
  6. I am not much for Deer hunting when it is warm out, I like to take advantage of this nice weather small game hunting. With the overly long Deer seasons we have here in NY there will be plenty of time left to get out and kill one when the weather is a bit cooler. Al
  7. It is an accomplishment for sure and one he deserves to be proud of. Al
  8. These days everyone has either a phone or a camera to snap a hunt photo, I have noticed in many of these old photographs the pics look to be taken by a professional photographer in a studio like the pic below. Al
  9. The seat I have been using the past few years is an updated version of that old hot seat pillow type, it works great for short sits but after a while it compresses and loses it's loft. The woods I hunt was logged off and there are a lot of stumps and logs I use to sit on and watch, this new seat seems to be more comfortable for me so far. Al
  10. Looks like you boys had a great time! Al
  11. BWHAHAHA! When I made up the title I knew it was going to get some laughs, and for the record my ass really loves it. Al
  12. Been using the conventional hot seats while hunting for many years, they can become a bit uncomfortable if sitting on a cold log or wet ground for extended periods of time. I am going to try and give my Butt a break with a bit better seat this season so I picked up something different to try. Used it a couple of times Squirrel hunting and it is pretty good so far. Al
  13. I have never done any business with them myself but I have seen and heard reports from folks that have both bought and sold that were very satisfied. Give an update on your experience dealing with them. Al
  14. Well Walz got his ass kicked almost as bad as Biden did in his debate performance, I like his taking a page out of John Kerry imitation of being a hunter playbook, that guy would sell the hunting and shooting communities out in a heartbeat. he is a Democrat and the worst kind of Democrat. For those that do not remember Al October 21, 2004 Associated Press BOARDMAN, Ohio - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said he bagged a goose on his swing-state hunting trip Thursday, but his real target was the voters who may harbor doubts about him. Kerry returned after a two-hour hunting trip wearing a camouflage jacket and carrying a 12-gauge shotgun, but someone else carried the bird he said he shot. "I'm too lazy," Kerry joked. "I'm still giddy over the Red Sox. It was hard to focus." ---------- Commentary: Hmm....he lacks the focus to carry a goose, but he isn't at all concerned about carrying and firing a shotgun. He says he's ready to handle the "hard work" of being President, but he's "too lazy" to carry the bird he supposedly shot. Although he claims to be an avid hunter, Kerry has never joined the 315-member of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus. And extremist groups know his true feelings about hunting. John Kerry has a 100 percent "A" rating from radical animal "rights" groups like PETA and the Fund for Animals. UPDATE! The Drudge Report has exclusively published the Reporters Pool Report On Kerry Hunting... Not that it was staged or anything, Loftus explained: "He's going to walk down that line of corn. He'll turn down there and walk up this way. Then we will move with great dispatch up there." No questions were to be asked, we were informed. Woody, the yellow dog, was the only one who seemed to stray from stage notes. He kept running up to the man ahead carrying the fourth bird, then racing back to the four hunters, only to tag them and race back ahead. "The dog is out of position," sighed one shooter. More revelations: Kerry camo purchased just prior to photo-op; no reporters saw him fire, no reporters saw him hit; did NOT take bird as he exited our state on his private jet...
  15. Home on the Range! I don't what there is about the shooting range but the local goofballs seem to like it out there especially on rainy days. Al
  16. I have been harping here on what the Democrats strategy for ammo and firearms for years, ammo is in their sights, control it and you control firearms, they chip away little by little. I was called a "fear monger!" Al
  17. I crack up at these big name personalities-stars and politicians scrambling about, and tossing their endorsements to the various political candidates. Like it is going to influence who I vote for-NOT!!!. My votes go to the party whose candidate and policies support "ME" and my outdoor life style. REPUBLICAN all the way down the line! Al
  18. I gave away much of my trapping stuff to one of my boys including my old pack basket. I see that they have become quite pricey and for the amount of trapping I do now I do not want to invest in another one. So I went with an alternative that should work out OK and saved a few bucks. It is a shoulder harness that can be attached to a 5 gallon plastic bucket to carry gear. Al
  19. I picked up a three trap set that included the setting tool. Al
  20. Here is one I do not think is going to make it and will end up being firewood, it was a beautiful tree at one time.
