  1. Happy Birthday Dino and Elmo Hope you both enjoy your day!
  2. I've used them for years, Luninocks, Nocturnals, and other brands i can't recall the names. I do know they are heavier than reg nocks but I have the practice tips and i honestly don't notice much difference in how they fly. But then I'm not the best shot so if I'm off a couple of inches I don't notice. I have a tackle box full of nocks and broadheads that I've experimented with over the years, I'm a sucker for new stuff. Funny story the 1st deer I shot with a lighted nock I thought it broke in flight because when it hit the deer it went off, I figured it out later, you can't see the nock when it's inside the deer! Dummy!
  3. I had a good time last night at the Academy, that 80 yd shot was eye opening! I only lost 1 arrow. Not bad shooting as I haven't shot my bow since the indoor academy at Wolcott Gun back in March.
  4. A Thai feather Flicker?
  5. I can hear it already " hon I'm going to church to do some charity work, I'll be back later "
  6. I haven't put in for any days yet, but I too am retiring at the end of this year and I have 250 sick days to use. So i think I'll be able to hunt when I want to! I'll just watch the weather and make a phone call!
  7. For sale is a Long manufacturing 5 ft. brush hog. Steel is in great shape, brand new drive shaft. has adjustable rear wheels and attaches to the tractor draw bar, does not have a 3pt hitch. Only selling because it's too much for my little tractor to handle. need at least a 25 hp tractor. Will trade for a 4ft. brush hog. Asking $650.
  8. That sounds like exactly what i need. I did try raising the height but it still stalls the tractor in the deep stuff. Plus it's too wide for some of the woods trails as the wheels are mounted on the outside of the brush hog.
  9. Tractor is geared, no hydro. it' a 1953 Farmall IIRC
  10. I have a friend with an old Massey tractor. It doesn't have a 3 pt hitch only a draw bar. Last year we picked up a pull behind mower that uses the pto and has 2 rear wheels that can be adjusted for height. We though it was the perfect set up for mowing lanes in the woods but the tractor doesn't seem to have the power to run the mower. I believe the mower is 5' but it may be 6' I don't recall and the tractor might be about 20hp? I would love to get a 48" mower hoping the tractor can handle it but it's hard to find anything but 3pt hitch type mowers. Do you think I could convert a standard woods mower by adding a couple of wheels on the sides of the mower so I can attach it to the tractor by the draw bar? The other problem is the pto on the tractor is offset to the left side of center so the 3pt bars will probably interfere with the drive shaft. Any suggestions? Thanks
  11. Larry, you can just stand and shoot, have a seat and I'll be your caddie! it will only cost a few cold ones!
  12. I'm ready to resume next Tuesday, Larry I'll drive, gotta rest that ankle!
  13. By a few each night Larry is talking about brews I assume? Gotta keep those muscles in shape!
  14. My son followed a girl to Cal after getting out of the service. He got his college done in Cal with the help of the GI bill. He's been there ever since!
  15. Nope, gotta leave something for my son to do!
  16. You go where they are, unfortunately both my kids are out of town. Maybe it was something I did when they were growing up?
  17. Funny, yesterday I started the pergola at my son's house, he's a righty, the first thing he says to me is I'll try to keep up with your left handed logic! Lol
  18. Happy national left hander day to those of you who are so lucky!
  19. So I'm in California for the last 2 weeks as my son and daughter in law bought their 1st house. I came out with the anticipation of helping with various projects. I think I got them all done plus some. Although I never did kill the spider!
  20. Ha ha, I've never seen that before! Another movie I missed.
  21. At 100 yds my arrows would look like they're falling out of the sky!
  22. I resemble that, I go the wrong way after turkeys because of the hearing lost in 1 ear! The problem with "game ears" is they magnify the sounds but you still can't tell the direction!
  23. It goes between the leaf springs and the big helper spring. So basically you have to take the spring pack apart an add the new leaf. I had a price form local spring shop of $400 installed, I did it myself (with a little help from some neighbors) for $115. and about 4 hours labor. It took me about 3 hours to do the first side, and once i knew what I was doing the other side went much faster.
  24. I needed new tires and my factory steel wheels were starting to rust so I picked up a set of brand new alloy wheels with new tires from Craigslist. They fit great and look pretty good to!
  25. My Tacoma didn't have a great suspension so I added a 'add a leaf" kit. When I loaded up the cargo bed and pulled my trailer it almost bottomed out. Hopefully this does the trick.
