I just heard about the academy shoot yesterday, Unfortunately I probably won't make it until the mid august? as I'll be out of town. You guys will be in season form by the time I get my bow out of the case!

You don't need to contact the leaves to get poison ivy! even in the winter cutting and pulling the vines will get you! Although in the winter you will have on long sleeves and gloves to help protect you. Just be careful handling your gloves as they will have the oils on them!

Purell works to get the oils off your skin before it can develop into the rash. I always keep a bottle in my truck and wash up after a trip to the woods especially when setting up stands and clearing brush. The alcohol in it gets the oils off you and that is what causes the rash. Once you have the rash the only thing you can do is treat the rash. Poison Ivy doesn't spread from the rash, it spreads from having the oils under your finger nails and contact with clothes etc. that have the oil on them. You can actually handle something that has the oil on it up to a year later and get a rash from the oil. I've actually done this! poison ivy must have contacted my boots and the next time I wore them i got the rash!

The hen nesting in my back yard has been sitting 24/7 since may 25, they hatched on friday 6-21! 10 maybe 11 poults total! I'll post some videos once i figure out how!

I smoked pepper sticks on Sunday, left them in too long and didn't check on them enough. So now i have way over done p.sticks. Still edible but really dry. Just when i thought i had this smoker thing under control?

Slowly! I used a piece of 1/2" finish plywood and spackled the edges.

Rather than starting a new thread I figured I would add to this one. I needed a table for the end of a couch at my daughter's and made this to match the 2 tables I refinished that are posted on this thread earlier. This table is designed to slide over the armrest at the end of the couch. It's nice getting back to work on some projects in the shop. May was not a good month for doing anything other than hunting and recovering from hunting!
