Best Trail Camera Value
NYBowhunter replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
Ive had very good luck so far with the bushnell trophy cams. Fast trigger speed, great quality day and night pictures and rarely get blurry pictures. I recently picked up a cuddyback blackout which is supposedly 20mp but im not impressed with it at all. If i had to choose i like the function, quality, small size and ease of use of the bushnells. -
For myself was a great season, took an 8 pointer with the bow, doe with the crossbow and an 8 pointer with the muzzleloader.

Way to get it done so late in the season. Size shouldn't matter if your happy with what you harvested, meat is meat. Congrats!!

Thanks.yes definitely a tuff gun season however it finally paid off and everything leading up to the kill just makes for better memories.

Thanks brother

Thanks I have to agree, in my opinion the late season can be just as good if not better then the bow and gun season. The deer are starting to gradually getting back to normalcy, less hunter pressure, if you have a food source thats a plus if theres alot of snow around and like my harvest there are bucks still trailing does that are coming into a late heat. Theres nothing like hunting deer in deep snow!!!!

Thanks..Funny you say that I was talking to my mom just last week and told her its not over yet. She knows i endured alot of the elements and had alot of seat time on stand. She doesnt like to see her 44 yr.old baby going out in rainy, snowy and windy days ..lol..i had a great bow/crossbow season with an 8 pointer and a doe however the gun season was very uneventful. But my determination finally paid off and on sunday 12/14/14 i saw more deer that day then the entire gun season and i was blessed with this beautiful late season buck...so yes putting the time and having patience does have its rewards on occasion ..all in all a great year but i hunted real hard.

Thanks..yes i agree he should have dressed out 170 to 180 lbs. Never seen one of this age that thin. Guess he was a very agressive breeder which ultimately lead to his demise.
-
I agree he was a dirty ole buck and i had to put him in his place. Thanks
-
Heres a better picture..wasnt able to get better pictures till this morning.
-
Yes he was run down from breeding. A buck that age in my area should easily weigh more then the 140 he dressed out to be. The fact that he was still hanging with 2 little ones waiting for them to come into heat tells me hes had other things on his mind other then food for quite sometime...lol

One photo of him.

Got him this afternoon a little after 4pm trailing 2 little fawns. I have alot of trail cam photos of him but always at night. These 2 little fawns must be coming into a late heat and thankfully for me got him on his feet in daylight. Hes an 8 pointer and has one little point that im not counting.

Same here i can only fit my breach plug hole on my omega with a pin, a 1/8" sounds huge.I would not recommend drilling out the breach, just get a pin and push it through. If its really blocked then use plyers to hold the pin and push through the breach plug hole. Has always worked for me and will most likely remedy your issue assuming all your powder and primers are good.

Happy B'Day...Enjoy!!

The first thing cooked up at camp after a harvest is the liver. I look forward to eating the liver each year. Finely sliced liver sautéed with onions, vinegar and seasoning...yummy

I saw a bear few years back on my friends place during bow (no shot). Last year opening day of reg. Deer Season on my property i took a 230lb sow. By the DEC statistics that was the only bear harvested in the entire town of Worcester and i believe if i recall correctly 1 of only 6 killed in the entire county of Otsego. That harvest was one i will never forget and will probably never have that opportunity again.
