  1. Just seen on the news the State yanked her off the food stamp list.
  2. nyantler, which dollar store? hope its not the one in Bridgeport.
  3. I don't know how far away this was from her when she seen it, but I would more believe it was a bobcat, if it was catlike at all.
  4. I want to laugh, but hey, ya never know! Paw prints in mud or snow? Do some scouting.
  5. Use both heart and liver. Love to make bacon, liver, and onion sandwiches. Use toasted garlic bread. Cut the liver thin, dredge in flour and saute in bacon fat for just a minute or two. mmmm....mmmm.... mmmmm
  6. .....they say if your shooting at a deer with it, you don't notice the recoil.........
  7. Very well done. Good choice of music. Circle of Life, never take more than you need. Enjoyed it very much.
  8. Thanks for the replys guys. Thats what I figured about the front sight, it must tap out, I just have to make sure it's the right way. I have three 870 Wingmasters, one with 28" vent rib with all the Rem chokes, one with cantilever rifled deer barrel with scope, and this one with the smoothbore with rifle sights. Yea, I love guns, and I love Remingtons. I don't use this one much anymore, But sitting here in the month of February thinking of all my stuff, I'm thinking I would use this gun on say a day when it's real crappy out and I don't want to get my other guns soaking wet or whatever, I might grab this one that would be easier to clean. But being 58 years old the eye sight not what it was, those TroGlows might be nice.
  9. I have a 870 with the smooth bore deer bll with rifle sights. I'd like to replace the sites with the Tru Glow sites, red front site, double green dot on the rear. Is this easy enough to do or does a gunsmith need to do it? Rear site looks easy enough, but front site concens me.
  10. Well WNYBuckHunter, I went over to the Cheaper Than Dirt site and they have the Remington Accutips I'm looking for, 11.16 a box, still a darn good price. So I put an order with them and it excepted and said it ships to my address. So maybe it is a store policy. The thing is I only live about 6 miles away from the Gander Mtn store in Cicero, NY. But they have been out of stock since early last fall. And their price is 17.99 a box!! Thanks for the tip! I think I just found a new place to shop.
  11. Good question Doc. Over on the Cabelas site while looking at ammo, I notice they have a yellow box that list about 1/2 doz. states that they have restrictions, and New York is one of them.
  12. Just surfing Gander Mtn. site and see they have Remington 12ga. Accutip slugs 9.99 per box. That's cheap! So I tried ordering and they said that they can't ship ammo to New York State address! Just great! New to me! how long has this been going on? Of course I'm not supprised. Friggin New York!
  13. Well I have many books by Patrick F. McManus. Outdoor humor, right down my ally. And I know just about eveyone on this forum would like reading his short stories.

    knives

That's the same knife I have also. Got it when I was 17 years old, I'm now 58.
  16. Congrats and nice story. Sorry about your dad, sounds like he was looking over your shoulder directing you which way to go. Your gonna have a tough time wiping that smile off your face.
  17. If you end up using your .22, I would definitely use hollow points. Right behind the shoulder, just like your shooting deer, and listen for that thwap!!
  18. I like modified choke and I use #5's. The heavier shot passes all the way through the rabbit.
