welcome aboard Vinny, enjoy the ride.

I would like to know how you got him out of the woods, how far of a drag, etc.?
-
So obviously he must think the deer was salvageable. Not bloated, stunk, or coyote ravaged.
-
I would start by contacting a locksmith. If he can't handle it, he probably know some outfit that can.
-
Good luck up in the North Woods. What area you hunting in?
-
What was the date coverage? 2013-2014 were given out last year. I've got one of those. I'm talking about the Fishing regs.
-
So this is my answer......http://www.dec.ny.gov/press/98511.html The town clerk still had it wrong.
-
My grandson got his on Friday.
-
I'll guess that the DEC was thinking of hunters who hunt in full camo, duck huntin, turkey, bow hunting, folks that don't want a bright color on their back. On the other side if you want to be seen. you'll have orange hat and vest. This is just a guess.

This past week stopped at town clerks office to get Hunting/Fishing licenses, everything worked and got both DMP's. I asked for the regs/guides, she said they're not printing the Fishing anymore, and this is the last year they're printing the Hunting/Trapping guide. Now if you guys already covered this, sorry, I must of missed it. But is this true? If it is I'm totally against this. Anybody here anything?

I would set up camp near some water. Comes in handy for washing , etc. Keep in mind if you guys do get lucky, how far you'll be from transportation. Sometimes being way back in isn't always the best. Dragging a deer through Adirondack terrain is not easy. Lots of rock, boulders, downed trees, nothings level. For your first time doing this I would go easy on how far you go in. And as others have said, definitely a compass and topographical map and know how to use it. Weather is another factor. Be prepared for anything. Snow, rain, cold, warm. It's a lot of fun, but if your not prepared, it could turn into one of those "I'll never do that again".

I have noticed the same thing. Where are the bee's, and even the wasps! I'm also wooried about my garden. I mowed my yard yesterday, about 2 acres, lots of clover, little white heads all over, seen a few bee's on them, but very few, not good. I have no answer to why.

those darn glass measuring cups always leave a mess. You would think they could make them so they don't drip like that. -
Deer Camp Pickled Kielbasa Recipe and Video

Looks real good. Smart to use the wide mouth jars, easier to get in and out. Like how you cut the meat up, pickling can penetrate better. Fun to experiment with different flavors. Enjoy! -
your right ny hunter, that's not a tail, looks like a stick. Head looks like pig. If you blow it up and look close at the right leg area, almost looks like a beaver tail pointed straight at the camera. Sooo......I don't know!

After that first shot, I would of stopped.

I've always used a 1:1 ratio of water and vinager. Just an FYI. and any spices you like. I've tried kielbasa before, and found if you have a variety that has the skin on, the pickling doesen't penetrate vary well. If I did it again I'd try to find a skinless variety. Just FYI stuff. It's always fun experimenting with this stuff. I'm the type that grabs some of this and a little of that and probably never make things the same. On time I made the best meatballs that I ever ate and I couln't what all I used. LOL

Reminton 700 and Model 7 recall for trigger issues
jim335 replied to Mr VJP's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Just an FYI. My son received the box on Monday. Received an e-mail with the shipping tags to print off. So we'll see how long this is going to take. -
In the back of my mind I THINK the back tag had something to do with farmers being able to identify hunters on their property, not sure. Just like back in the day when there was no Sunday hunting, I THINK that had something to do with the farmers also. Some of you old timers might remember something like that.

Reminton 700 and Model 7 recall for trigger issues

Has anyone received the shipping box from Remington yet? My son was on hold on the phone forever, he just hung up and did it on line. Got message he would get the box and tags, but hasn't seen anything yet. -
I can't argue with that guys. Target practice should be fun, not a chore. I have to admit I dread pulling out my 12ga. deer gun shooting those sabot slugs, geez they give a whallop. But after that I can shoot my '06 all day long, that's just me.
-
If she has no problem with a 20 ga. with turkey loads, she should be able to handle most rifles. Keep this in mind, and we all can probably attest to this, when your shooting at a deer or whatever, you don't realize the gun had any recoil, or even hear the BANG!

I use my John Deere garden tractor with 42" snowthrower.
