HERE COMES THE GUN LAWS
Culvercreek hunt club replied to ryan's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I agree Doc but I wonder. Since it technically only operates as a semi automatic, one round for each trigger pull. What's the over under on when the first anti suggests that since it's really a semi, why not pass a ban on semis -

Increase the target size to a footprint occupied by hundreds or thousands of people and I can see the evil draw to using one -

and add to that the number of murders using firearms has been in steady decline since the assault weapon ban expiration. Which if you want to believe the lib's shouldn't be happening. -

No as a matter of fact I don't but I was answering his hypothetical with all he set forth. And in his it was earmarked. -

If it was earmarked I'd go 10% -
My G5 Montec's have always gone through except for one spine hit. I use to shoot razor baks on a whitetail 2, thunder heads on an old proline and those passed through. I went to a speedy Balck night 2 fromt bow tech and tossed on fold back broadheads and had 4 deer that didn't make an exit hole. went back to thunderheads and started punching through again. and except for the black knight I haven't shot over 60#

HERE COMES THE GUN LAWS

when I said it was not illegal I was speaking on a national level since this happened in Las Vegas. in NY that would be an banned assault weapon. (pistol grip, Possible collapsible stock on a detachable magazine semi auto) I get what you guys are saying. This whole thing has turned into WW 1 trench warfare becasue of how both sides approach each other. I don't know what the answer is but I can sympathize with the pro gun not wanting to give an inch becasue of past legislation. The left has proven time and time again that they WILL pass them for the sake of passing them and have no idea if any positive results will be achieved. I've shot a bump stock. it's fun for spraying bullets but not very good accuracy. full autos are fun as well to shoot. Everyone should experience it at least once. I have no desire or need to own one though. -
nah, wouldn't be interested. I ran my course with fold back blades. Only times I have had a broadhead NOT make it all the way through a deer were with fold back blades.

I just wanted to clear up that the bump stocks were NOT illegal. Even per the ATF they still classified the weapon with a bump stock on it as semi automatic becasue it required one trigger pull to fir one round. The bump stock reduces the time between "triggger pulls" -
HERE COMES THE GUN LAWS

Oh I know that is the correct answer. So when it does happen again after new mental health efforts and even more gun laws (probably on the state levels), we will be right back here defending an onslaught and accusations that gun owners cause these things. -

Those my only options? Can we tax abortions, unhealthy food and cars instead, since they cause more deaths by double or triple digit factors instead? -
HERE COMES THE GUN LAWS
Culvercreek hunt club replied to ryan's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I don't have a problem supporting better mental health care BUT, there needs to be a plan outlined (the whole plan) and specific avenues to pay for it. I would then want someone to tell me how this new plan would have stopped this shooter. -
I shoot a longer loop.. it doesn't change the anchor point. It does act like a "spacer" between a bow at a given DL and my anchor point

I don't think it is foolish if his personal experiences prove that out. Mine do. Far more often than not the ones at the counter in the big box stores are not qualified to give advice that I hear them giving. I have butted my nose in before when I clearly heard them telling a customer something that was incorrect. -

I get it. I understand it. I am sure you have a grasp on it. But I don't feel comfortable with some of the clueless A holes I have seen behind the counter of places like Gander and F&S or Walmart having any clue what "suspicious" and what weird statements are. -
These foam targets' vitals are wrong, right?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Core's topic in Deer Hunting
I think it is a great idea to have these topics to refresh our memory and show those that may not be certain. I don't think the targets are off by that much. The heart is not close but the overall vital area isn't bad. The problem I have with the foam targets is it gets hunters thinking of the surface and NOT what is in the center. Start adding vertical angles for elevated treestands or quartering angles and that surface diagram on a foam target doesn't mean squat. -
Not true. I have hunted in the mountains a lot and the sun dips below the horizon I see well before close of legal shootign time. Go by the time in your area that is published and you won't go wrong.
