  1. Again with the Bolt comparison. How about Grandpa's Remington 742 in '06? 5 shots semi automatic magazine fed other than cosmetics, what's the actual difference?
  2. Belo, if you are going to do this frequently, look around for an electric meat slicer. It really helps when the product is all the same.
  3. one mentally deranged pilot took out more innocent people that all the "assault rifles" will in 2015. Why aren't they crying to get rid of planes?
  4. Shhhhhhh!!! don't interject facts, it confuses their hate.
  5. Maybe the incident at NSA has their info conduit screwed up...lol
  6. That very approach has gotten us where we are in my opinion. Those in favor and pushing, ever increasing gun control are not won over by nice and inaction, they are emboldened by it. And for the record what set me off with you was you employing the same comments that the antis use. Even though you know in NY there is no hunting with a semi mag fed rifle with more than 5 you took the 30 round mag approach. Then we have to listen to the "just to be cool and bad ass and they are all Rambo wannbees. " comments because Stubby just can't see any advantage to the platform.
  7. Does it give you the maximum temp rise?
  8. We should all be snipers!!! No hunter "needs" a semi automatic to hunt deer. "I am so good I use to only load 2 bullets, then I moved to one. Now I just sneak up so close that when I fire a blank they die from a heart attack"
  9. Wow that seems like a lot. Electric is hard for instantaneous Is it an option to go with a propane unit and it might reduce the cost of your service requirements? a 100# tank or two might give plenty between fills. a 100# tank would give you about 3,000,000 BTU's What is you heater rated for?
  10. which was the original point of the OP. An out of stater was trying to assess if what he had would work within our Laws or understand what he could do to make it work.
  11. It isn't really "cooked". I don't think the temp comes anywhere near even Rare for Beef. Salted and with no moisture the nasties can't grow. I like mine dry. I put in small freezer bags and freeze it and take it out as I want to eat it. Tends to make it last a bit longer too because if it is there I go through it..lol
  12. I flip the slices over as well when they are dry enough to pick up and support their own weight.
  13. For one pound of meat slices 1/8” strips. The more uniform the better results. (I like using a meat slicer if you have one. If not partially frozen meats slices the best. ½ cup of soy sauce ½ cup of Worchester sauce 1 teaspoon of seasoning salt 2 teaspoons of onion powder 2/3 teaspoon of black pepper 2/3 teaspoon of garlic powder ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper The liquid smoke I use is from Cabela's. 1/4 teaspoon for this batch. Follow directions on whichever you choose. Mix ingredients well in bowl. Add meat strips and stir well, making sure all meat it coated. Cover bowl and store in refrigerator for 24 hours, stirring and mixing 3 to 4 times. Remove from mixture and pat dry before loading into dehydrator. Very good recipe and just the right amount of zing. I would not call this "hot". milder than a jalapeno.
  14. You are very welcome, Mike, the group is glad to help. And Thank you for spearheading this. It isn't very often that there is a chance to support expanded hunting opportunities in this state. We will be in touch to talk about having the petition available at any of the events we do in the future to gain signature.
  15. And the body counts would have been much higher in those mass shootings if they had carried a shotgun
  16. Stubby- ArmaLite rifle And I haven't seen anyone clam they are the most accurate rifle or that they will magically cure poor marksmanship or compensate for poor shot selection. If a hunter is selecting a semi auto for their hunting rifle, they would be hard pressed to find a more reliable, accurate and customizable one than the AR platform. And while the civilian AR's are not the same as the military version they are Mil spec and that equates to never having to worry about a lack of spare parts. All seem like very good reasons other than being "bad ass" regardless of what you think.
  17. So his opinion changed when he was called on the carpet? No. He eventually put out there more clearly what he was dancing around I. His own unique way since he started. I am pretty fair with a bolt gun myself but if you think that the bolt guns compare to and AR, let me ask you this? Why did the military go to them then? Why not stay with the bolt actions they had in service? Was it just because of the rate of fire? I know the majority of the sniper weapons are bolts and I get the whole make the first shot count attitude. But if quick accurate follow ups aren't a concern then why not just use a single shot? Why do we need bolts? Or pumps or lever actions ? I can't believe that you can't find one reason given for owning one valid other that the person needs to feel bad ass.
  18. honestly the comparison was more like a VW bug and a Vet
  19. I do like you Belo and we agree on about 90% of topics. I feel very strongly that you are either with or against in his fight. While I know you aren't against it your comments don't ring of support.
  20. About every modern hunting weapon had its roots originally in design. Should that draw ridicule? How about the sharps. The Mauser? Revolvers? Why were these developed? Initial military applications.
  21. You are wrong. He was not called on the carpet for his anti views until he started with the typical anti comments like why needling 30 rounds. There were comments explaining why someone would want one and why his try to compare to a $400 by gun was inaccurate. His opinion is evident in his posts as well as previous posts on this site and I stand by my comment that gun owners like him are the problem and he should burn his NRA card
  22. And stubby. Does this sound familiar. Who needs 30 rounds to kill a deer?
  23. Stubby. This is actually the start of the derail. Meaning the AR is NOT meant for hunting
  24. the gun is built for 30? Could have sworn the gun was built to accept an mag. 5 round. 10 round. 30 round. Drum mags.
